Renters Rights Information Sheet

Everything you need to know about how to share the Information Sheet with your Tenant and receive proof of reading.

Written by Kseniya Timoshchuk

New UK legislation dictates that landlords must distribute the official Information Sheet to their tenants before May 31st. The stakes are high: non-compliant landlords risk facing fines of up to £7,000.

To protect our users and streamline compliance, Lendlord has automated the first step. The Information Sheet is now automatically uploaded into the document section of every tenant profile on the platform. Landlords simply need to choose how they wish to distribute it.

This article outlines the three available sharing methods to help our support and success teams guide users effectively.

This is the quickest, most traditional method for landlords to get the document out to their tenants. This way does not provide proof of reading.

  1. Go to My Tenants.

  2. Click on the tenant you would like to share the Information Sheet with.

  3. Scroll until you see the Tenants Documents section.

  4. Locate the Information Sheet and click on the three dots.

  5. Click Share via email.

  6. Confirm the tenant details and click Share.

Send for Signature

For landlords looking for a paper trail without upgrading their tier, this option introduces a layer of legal security.

  1. Go to My Tenants.

  2. Click on the tenant you would like to share the Information Sheet with.

  3. Scroll until you see the Tenants Documents section.

  4. Locate the Information Sheet and click on the three dots.

  5. Click on Send for Signature.

  6. Confirm the tenant details, then click Next.

  7. Add a signature field at the bottom of the document, then click Send.

Share to Tenant Dashboard

This is our most robust compliance solution, available exclusively to Lendlord Premium users.

  1. Go to My Tenants.

  2. Click on the tenant you would like to share the Information Sheet with.

  3. Scroll until you see the Tenants Documents section.

  4. Locate the Information Sheet and click on the three dots.

  5. Click on Share with tenant.

  6. Now that the document's shared with the tenant you can apply force read on the document. Click on the three dots again, and select Force tenant to read document.
