ELA Assesslets - Accessing Rubrics & Exemplars During Administration

Preview rubrics and exemplars for ELA Assesslets during administration, making it easier to understand scoring expectations in real time.

Use this guide to quickly locate rubrics and exemplars for an ELA Assesslet while the Assesslet is still in progress, so you can reference scoring criteria as students work.

How to Access Rubrics & Exemplars During Administration

  1. In the left menu, click Assesslet Activities and select Language Arts.

  2. Click the underlined title of the Assesslet you are administering.

  3. Scroll down to the Student Actions section (items).

  4. Click the underlined action for the Extended Response item:

    • Item #4 for Grades 3, 5, 8, and 10

    • Item #9 for Grades 4, 6, and 7 on the PLUS version

  5. A new right-side panel will appear with rubrics. Click the underlined title of a rubric to open all rubrics attached.

  6. View the exemplar and descriptors for each rubric. Scroll down to see them all.

  7. (Optional) Use the Print button to print the rubrics, or the Open in Tab button to expand them in a full-screen tab.
