Now that you have activated your account, let’s take a look at how to navigate the home page of your account. This guide addresses the functions of the top bar and main page area, and describes the Home page tiles.

The example shown is the home page for a teacher account.

Navigating the Top Bar:

Look across the top bar, starting on the right with your account information, and work across to the left.

1. Click on your name to access the drop down menu. You can view your user profile and sign out from this menu.

2. Click on Messages to view any new in-platform messages. This is not a comprehensive, threaded message system; rather it will notify you of any change or update to you within the platform, such as a colleague request or a newly shared activity.

3. Click on the Home button to return to the Home page at any time, from anywhere in the platform.

4. In the center of the top bar, you will see small navigation squares. As you open more tiles while working in the platform, you will see additional squares appear. The two tiles displayed on screen are indicated by two solid squares. You can navigate to other open tiles by clicking on the outlined squares, or by clicking on the navigation arrows.

5. Some users have multiple roles. There are District Admin, School Admin, and Teacher roles in District and School Connect. For a user with multiple roles, select the role from this menu in the top bar.

Navigating the Home Page

As noted above, there are two tiles displayed in the main area of the page in District and School Connect. On the home page, these tiles represent summaries of several categories and types of activities for each user of the platform.

6. On the left side of the page, there are summaries for Classes, Students, and Activities. In the example below, a teacher account's summaries includes a list of classes, student demographics, and a sampling of active District, School, and Assesslet Activities. This is not a complete list; for the full list of activities, see each category in the left side menu, addressed in more detail in the next guide, Navigating the Left Side Menu.

7. On the right side of the page, there are summaries for Recent Results across completed District, School, Classroom, and Assesslet Activities. Again, this is a sample of recently completed activities. Access the full list of recent activities using the left side menu.

The example below shows the same home page view from a co-teacher's account.

The example below shows the same home page view from a school administrator's account. Note that the view is from a school perspective, including student and assignment information from across the school, and does not include individual classes and classroom activities.

Finally, the example below shows the home page view from a district administrator's account. This view includes all students across the district, along with active district-wide activities and recent results.
