What is the difference between business-level access and deal-level access for my client?

See which access to give a client, when to invite them to a business, and when to share one deal.

Business-level access invites your client into their business profile in the Client Portal, where they can manage their overall profile, documents, and the applications tied to that business. That means every deal on that business, not only the one you had in mind.

Deal-level access is narrower. When you share a specific deal's application, you are giving access to that one application and nothing else.

There is also a read-only external share, for someone who should be able to see a deal but not edit it.

Click through the walkthrough above to see deal-level sharing done end to end.

Use the Manage access tab on a business to invite members and set roles for ongoing business-level access. Use Share on a deal's Application when you only want them collaborating on that single application. Both keep everything synced back to your account.

One thing worth knowing on scope: admins of a management group have access to every business in their portal.
