Plan Requirement: This feature is available to all LiGo subscribers on the Starter plan or above (from $5/month billed annually). See all available plans here.
Prerequisites
Before setting up the LiGo Connector, ensure you have:
LiGo Starter Plan or above: Active subscription to any paid LiGo plan ($5/month+ billed annually)
A Claude, ChatGPT, or Perplexity account: Any of these AI tools support the LiGo MCP Connector
LiGo Account: Active LiGo account with LinkedIn profile connected. If your LinkedIn account isn't connected to LiGo, the publishing & scheduling features won't work
LinkedIn Profile URL Set: Your LinkedIn profile URL configured in LiGo (the system will prompt you if needed)
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
The setup takes under 2 minutes and requires no terminal, no installation, and no Claude Desktop app.
Step 1: Verify Your LiGo Account Status
Before beginning:
Ensure you are signed in to your LiGo account
Verify your paid plan subscription is active by checking your billing page
Confirm your LinkedIn profile is connected to LiGo from Settings → Connected Accounts
Step 2: Open Claude Connectors
Head to claude.ai/customize/connectors and click the + button to add a new connector.
Step 3: Add a New Connector
Click the + button and fill in both fields:
NAME: LiGo
REMOTE MCP SERVER URL:
https://ligosocial.com/mcp
Then click Save (or Add) to continue.
Step 4: Authorize with LiGo
Claude will open a LiGo sign-in page. Log in (or create an account) and click Allow to grant Claude access to your LiGo workspace.
Important: Only grant access to your own LiGo account. The authorization gives Claude access to your LiGo workspace data — do not share your login credentials with others.
Step 5: Link Your LinkedIn Profile
After connecting LiGo to Claude, you also need to link your LinkedIn account with LiGo (if you haven't already). We use LinkedIn's Official API for this, so your data stays safe and compliant — no browser cookies, no scraped tokens.
How to verify the LinkedIn connection is active: After connecting, go to your LinkedIn account's Permitted Services page. You'll see LiGo listed there, confirming the connection is through LinkedIn's official channels.
Step 6: Start Using It
That's it. In any Claude conversation you can now say:
"Publish this to LinkedIn"
"Schedule a post for tomorrow"
"Show me my recent posts and engagement"
...and LiGo handles the rest.
Using ChatGPT or Perplexity Instead?
The LiGo Connector is built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), which means it works with any AI tool that supports custom MCP connectors — not just Claude.
You can add the same connector in:
ChatGPT: Go to Settings → Connectors and add a custom connector with the URL
https://ligosocial.com/mcpPerplexity: Go to Settings → MCP and add a custom connector with the same URL
The LiGo workspace URL is the same in all cases: https://ligosocial.com/mcp. The authorization flow will redirect you to LiGo to approve access, regardless of which AI tool you're connecting from.

Powerful Workflow Examples
Workflow 1: Content Strategy Based on Performance
You: Get my last 5 LinkedIn posts with engagement metrics Claude: [Retrieves posts with full metrics] You: Analyze these. What patterns do you see in my best-performing posts? Claude: [Provides analysis of topics, length, format, timing] You: Based on that analysis, give me 5 post ideas that match those successful patterns Claude: [Generates specific ideas] You: Take the third idea and turn it into 3 post variants Claude: [Generates 3 variants] You: Schedule the second variant for Tuesday at 10 AM EST Claude: [Schedules the post]
Workflow 2: Repurpose Content Efficiently
You: I wrote this newsletter about [topic]: [paste newsletter content] Claude: I'll transform this into LinkedIn posts. You: Generate 3 LinkedIn post variants from this newsletter Claude: [Generates 3 optimized variants] You: The first variant is great. Can you make it slightly more conversational? Claude: [Adjusts the tone] You: Perfect. Publish it now. Claude: [Publishes to LinkedIn]
Workflow 3: Profile Optimization Insights
You: Show me my LinkedIn profile Claude: [Displays profile data] You: Based on my work experience and the posts I've been sharing, does my headline accurately reflect what I do? Claude: [Analyzes alignment] You: What would be a better headline based on my recent post topics? Claude: [Provides recommendations based on your actual content patterns]
Workflow 4: Weekly Content Planning
You: Retrieve my last 3 linkedin posts.
Claude: [Gets posts with engagement data]
You: What topics got the best engagement? And what days/times did I post them?
Claude: [Analyzes patterns]
You: Create a content plan for next week based on these insights. Give me post topics for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Claude: [Provides strategic plan]
You: Turn the Monday topic into 3 post variants now
Claude: [Generates variants]
You: Schedule the second variant for Monday at 9 AM EST
Claude: [Schedules post]
Understanding the Integration's Capabilities
What It Does
Retrieves your actual LinkedIn data: Real profile information and post metrics, not generic advice
Generates content from ANY source: Not just from Claude conversations — paste in newsletters, articles, notes, anything
Enables conversational analysis: Ask follow-up questions, refine ideas, and iterate on strategy
Direct publishing workflow: From idea to published post without leaving your AI conversation
On-demand data refresh: Update your data whenever you need current information
What It Doesn't Do
Doesn't automatically post for you: You control when and what gets published
Doesn't generate comments: This integration focuses on posts; use the Chrome Extension for commenting
Doesn't access others' profiles: Only your own LinkedIn data
Doesn't modify your profile: Only reads profile data, doesn't change it
Doesn't store conversation history outside the AI tool: Each conversation is independent unless you continue it
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Issue: Claude Can't Access My LinkedIn Data
Possible Causes and Solutions:
Paid Plan Not Active
This integration requires an active paid LiGo subscription (Starter or above) — Verify your subscription here
LinkedIn Profile URL Not Set
The first time you use the integration, you may need to set your LinkedIn profile URL
Claude will prompt you if this is needed
Provide your full LinkedIn profile URL (ex: https://www.linkedin.com/in/username/)
LinkedIn Profile Not Connected in LiGo
Ensure your LinkedIn profile is connected to LiGo
Visit your LiGo dashboard to verify the connection
The integration pulls from LiGo's data, which requires a connected LinkedIn account
Authorization Expired or Revoked
Try disconnecting the LiGo connector in Claude and reconnecting it
Go back to claude.ai/customize/connectors, remove LiGo, and re-add it
Complete the authorization flow again
Issue: Generated Posts Don't Match My Voice
Solution:
Post generation through the connector creates LinkedIn-optimized variants, not voice-matched posts
For voice-matched content, use the LiGo web app which has access to your full voice training
You can ask Claude to adjust tone: "Make this more conversational" or "Make this more professional"
Issue: Data Seems Outdated
Solution:
Ask Claude to refresh your data: "Refresh my LinkedIn posts data"
Data is cached for performance; refresh when you need current metrics
Profile data: "Refresh my LinkedIn profile data"
Posts data: "Refresh my LinkedIn posts data"
Issue: Can't Publish to LinkedIn
Solution:
Verify LinkedIn connection in LiGo web app
Check LinkedIn API permissions haven't been revoked — visit your LinkedIn Permitted Services page to confirm LiGo is still listed
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your LinkedIn profile in LiGo settings
Remember: Publishing happens through LiGo's infrastructure, not the AI tool directly
Issue: Scheduling Posts Fails
Solution:
Verify your scheduled time is in the future
Use ISO 8601 format for dates (e.g., '2025-12-31T10:00:00Z')
Check your timezone is correctly specified
Ensure you have remaining posts in your plan's monthly allocation
Best Practices for Using the Integration
1. Start Conversations with Data Retrieval
Before generating content, pull in your actual LinkedIn data. This grounds Claude's recommendations in your real performance.
Example: "Get my last 5 posts and analyze which topics performed best. Then we'll create new content based on that."
2. Use Multi-Turn Conversations for Strategy
Don't treat this as a one-shot tool. Have actual conversations where Claude maintains context and builds on previous insights.
Example conversation:
"Show me my profile"
"Now get my recent posts"
"What's the gap between what my profile says and what I'm actually posting about?"
"Give me post ideas that bridge that gap"
3. Generate Multiple Variants, Then Refine
Always generate multiple variants first, then ask Claude to adjust your preferred option.
Example: "Generate 3 posts from this idea. [Reviews options] I like the second one but make it more specific to B2B SaaS."
4. Leverage Any Content Source
Don't limit yourself to topics you discuss with Claude. Paste in newsletters, meeting notes, articles, or any content.
Example: "I'm sending you our team's internal strategy document. Generate 3 LinkedIn posts that share the key insights publicly (without revealing confidential details)."
5. Schedule During Planning Sessions
Use Claude for weekly content planning sessions where you generate and schedule multiple posts at once.
Example: "Let's plan my content for next week. Get my recent posts, identify what worked, generate posts for Monday/Wednesday/Friday based on that, and schedule them all."
6. Refresh Data Before Major Decisions
When making strategy decisions, refresh your data first to ensure you're working with current metrics.
Example: "Refresh my posts data, then analyze this month's performance and recommend focus areas for next month."
Security and Privacy
Data Access
The LiGo Connector:
Accesses only your LiGo account data (profile, posts, analytics)
Does not share your data with other LiGo users
Operates under the same security protocols as the LiGo web application
Uses encrypted, OAuth-based authentication for secure access
Claude does not get direct access to your LinkedIn account — it can only perform a specific set of actions through your LiGo account
LinkedIn connection is made through LinkedIn's Official API — you can verify this by checking your LinkedIn account's Permitted Services page and seeing LiGo listed there
Data Privacy
Conversations with Claude are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy
Your LinkedIn data is fetched on-demand, not stored in Claude's systems
Publishing happens through LiGo's infrastructure with your existing LinkedIn permissions
Revoking Access
To revoke Claude's access to your LiGo account:
Find the LiGo connector and click Remove or Disconnect
To re-enable it later, simply follow the setup steps again
Integration Limitations
Monthly Limits
The integration uses your LiGo plan allocation:
Posting Credits, Repurposing Credits, Data Refreshes, and Chat with your LinkedIn Data credits are consumed only when LiGo actions are called.
When it's Claude handling something on its own, no credit deduction happens.
LinkedIn API Restrictions
Publishing limitations are set by LinkedIn's API
Some media types may have restrictions
(We do not officially support media uploads/post types via the Claude/ChatGPT/Perplexity integrations).
Data Refresh Frequency
Profile and posts data is cached for performance
Manually refresh when you need current data
Automatic refresh intervals help manage API usage

Common Questions
Q: What does the LiGo Connector allow me to do?
It lets you bring your full LinkedIn presence into Claude (or ChatGPT or Perplexity). You can retrieve your profile data, analyze post performance, generate LinkedIn-optimized content from any source material, and publish or schedule posts directly without leaving your AI conversation.
Q: What plan do I need?
Any paid LiGo plan works — starting from the Starter plan at $5/month (billed annually). You do not need the Pro plan. See all plans here.
Q: Do I need Claude Desktop or a terminal to set this up?
No. The setup is entirely web-based. You just go to claude.ai/customize/connectors, add LiGo as a connector, and authorize — no installation, no terminal commands, no Claude Desktop required.
Q: What kinds of actions can Claude perform once the connector is active?
Claude can retrieve your LinkedIn profile details, pull and analyze your recent posts, generate LinkedIn-optimized post variants from any content you provide, help you plan your content strategy, and publish or schedule posts through LiGo.
Q: Why can't Claude publish my posts or access my data?
This typically happens if your LiGo plan isn't active, your LinkedIn profile isn't connected to LiGo, or your connector authorization has expired. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the LiGo connector in Claude's settings, and verify your LinkedIn account is still connected in LiGo.
Q: Does this work with ChatGPT or Perplexity too?
Yes. Because LiGo uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), you can add it as a custom connector in ChatGPT and Perplexity using the same URL (https://ligosocial.com/mcp). The same LiGo plan requirement applies.
