Important Terms
Before setting up your first Zap, here are a few simple terms to understand. Knowing these will help you follow the rest of the steps more easily:
Zap - An automation built inside Zapier. It connects two or more apps so that when something happens in one app, an action of the same or another app runs automatically.
Trigger - The event that starts your Zap. For example, a new LinkedIn post or a new email receieved in your Gmail account can trigger a workflow.
Action - It indicates what happens next. For example, when a trigger runs, Zapier can tell LiGo to create a post or save a content idea.
Task - A single run of an action. Every time your Zap successfully performs an action, it counts as one task in Zapier.
Workflow - A complete process that connects a trigger and one or more actions together. A workflow might go from Email→LiGo→LinkedIn→Slack.
Field mapping - Choosing which data from one trigger/action (like a post title or message) should go into each field in another action (like content or title).
Example Workflows/Benefits
Here are four ready-to-use Zapier workflows using LiGo. Each connects LiGo with popular apps to save time and automate your content tasks.
Workflow #1: Schedule LinkedIn posts through Google Calendar
Create an event on Google calendar and it becomes a post scheduled to your LinkedIn profile
Setup:
Trigger: Google Calendar - New Event.
Formatters: Event Start date & time formatting
Action 1: LiGo - Schedule Your Post to LinkedIn
Action 2: Gmail - Send Email (To notify you incase of success)
Note: Formatters are needed to format the date & time into a form that LiGo can accept
Workflow #2: Send scheduled LinkedIn posts to Discord
Automatically alert your team on Discord whenever a new LinkedIn post is scheduled through LiGo.
Setup:
Trigger: LiGo - New LinkedIn Post Scheduled
Action: Discord - Send Channel Message
Workflow #3: Turn ClickUp messages into post ideas
Capture ClickUp post ideas through chat and create a task to review them later.
Setup:
Trigger: ClickUp - New message posted
Action 1: LiGo - Create Post Idea
Action 2: ClickUp - Create Task (to review idea)
Workflow #4: Turn hot Reddit posts into a LinkedIn post
Get the hottest posts in a subreddit, turn them into 3 post variants and ask ChatGPT to send the best one to your Slack channel
Setup:
Trigger: Reddit - New Hot Post in Subreddit
Action 1: LiGo - Repurpose Content
Action 2: ChatGPT - Send Prompt (Prompt it to choose the best post)
Action 3: Slack - Send Channel Message
Where To Get Your LiGo API Key
Open LiGo and visit Settings → Integrations
Find the API Key Management block & click Copy.
Keep that key safe - you will paste it into Zapier. (We cover security tips below)
Connect LiGo via the Zapier app (Step-by-Step)
Follow these steps only after you've accepted the LiGoSocial's Zapier invite link.
Login to Zapier and go to My Apps.
Click Add connection and search for LiGo.
Select LiGo and click Connect. A window will ask for credentials.
Paste the API key that you copied from LiGo settings into this field. Click Yes, continue (or the test button).
If the test succeeds, the account will show under My Apps/App Connections and you can use LiGo actions/triggers.
Note: If you cannot find LiGo in the Zapier app directory and are on a paid LiGo plan then please use this Zapier invite link.
Testing Your Zap
Use Zapier’s Test buttons for the trigger and the action.
Send sample data to LiGo and inspect the response.
Check Zapier Task History for run details and errors. Zapier logs show request bodies and response codes to help debug.
If a test fails with a 401 or 403, it usually means that the entered API key is wrong or has expired. Re-copy the API key from your account settings and reconnect, if that fails too then generate a new API key and paste it in Zapier.
Troubleshooting & Common Errors
401 Unauthorized - Recheck the API key. Copy-paste carefully, watch for extra spaces.
No sample data - Ensure your trigger produces sample data (e.g., create a test email or sample post).
Rate limit errors - Reduce frequency or batch actions. See LiGo Plan Usage for any rate limits.
When contacting support, include the Zap name, the task history entry, request body, response body, and a screenshot of the error. This speeds up troubleshooting and helps the team assist you as efficiently and quickly as possible.
What To Include In a Support Ticket
If you contact LiGo support about Zapier issues, include:
Your LiGo account's email and plan.
The Zap name and the action that failed.
Zapier run log screenshot and error code.
Sample request body (from Zapier task history).
Timestamp and any relevant logs.
This lets support reproduce and fix the problem faster.

Security & Privacy Notes
Treat your LiGo API key like a password. Do not embed it in public code or share it with someone else.
Rotate your API key if it is compromised. Regenerate it in your account settings to automatically disable the compromised key and to obtain a fresh one.
Use Zapier’s account-level sharing carefully; only share it with trusted users.
Zapier’s API Key authentication docs explain the common patterns for secure connections.
Limits & Best Practices
Start with a small test set before enabling the Zap for production.
Avoid sending very large amount of data in one request. Break large jobs into smaller more manageable jobs.
Monitor Zapier task usage & LiGo Plan Usage to avoid unexpected blocks.
Log or archive responses for audit and debugging.
Access & Pricing
Zapier integration is available only to paid LiGo users, you can get access to it through this invite. If you want to upgrade your LiGo account, please visit LiGo’s pricing page.
