Prerequisites
Before setting up the Claude Desktop integration, ensure you have:
LiGo Pro Plan: Active subscription to the Pro Plan
Claude Desktop App: Download from claude.ai if not already installed
Terminal Access: Ability to run commands in your terminal (macOS Terminal, Windows PowerShell, or Linux shell)
LiGo Account: Active LiGo account with LinkedIn profile connected (if your LinkedIn account isn't connected to LiGo, the publishing & scheduling features won't work.. for obvious reasons)
LinkedIn Profile URL Set: Your LinkedIn profile URL configured in LiGo (the system will prompt you if needed)
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
Step 1: Verify Your LiGo Account Status
Before beginning the setup process:
Ensure you are signed in to your LiGo account
Verify your Pro Plan subscription is active by checking your account settings in the billing page
Confirm your LinkedIn profile is connected to LiGo. You can do this from Settings -> Connected Accounts.
Step 2: Download Claude Desktop App
If you don't already have the Claude Desktop application:
Visit claude.ai
Download the desktop application for your operating system
Sign in to your Anthropic/Claude account
Step 3: Generate Your Installation Command
Navigate to this page (make sure you're logged in to LiGo)
If you're not logged in, you'll be redirected to authenticate with LiGo first
Once authenticated, click the "Generate Installation Command" button
A unique installation command will be generated specifically for your LiGo account
Copy the entire command to your clipboard
Important: This command contains your unique authentication token. Do not share it with others, as it provides access to your LiGo account data.
Step 4: Execute the Installation Command
Open your terminal application:
macOS: Applications > Utilities > Terminal
Windows: Search for PowerShell in the Start menu
Linux: Use your preferred terminal emulator
Paste the copied command into your terminal
Press Enter to execute the command
Wait for the installation process to complete (typically 10-30 seconds)
You should see a confirmation message indicating successful installation
Step 5: Restart Claude Desktop
Close the Claude Desktop application completely (quit, don't just close the window)
Reopen Claude Desktop from your applications
Wait 10-60 seconds for the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server to initialize
Once the server is available, you'll see the LiGo integration active in Claude
How to verify the integration is active: The LiGo tools will be available to Claude. You can simply start asking questions about your LinkedIn presence or requesting content generation.
Step 6: Test the Integration
Start a new conversation in Claude and try one of these test prompts:
Example 1 - Get Your Profile Data:
Show me my LinkedIn profile information. What's my current headline and summary?
Example 2 - Analyze Recent Posts:
Retrieve my last 5 LinkedIn posts and show me the engagement metrics. Which one performed best?
Example 3 - Generate Content:
I just had a great insight about [topic]. Turn this into 3 LinkedIn post variants optimized for engagement.
If Claude successfully accesses your LiGo data and provides relevant information or generates posts, your integration is working correctly.

Example conversation flow:
You: Analyze my last 5 posts. What's working? Claude: [Provides analysis based on your actual posts] You: Based on that, what topics should I focus on next week? Claude: [Gives recommendations based on the previous analysis] You: Give me 3 specific post ideas for those topics Claude: [Generates specific ideas aligned with your performance data]
4. Transform Any Content into LinkedIn Posts
Convert any source material into three optimized LinkedIn post variants:
Articles and blog posts
Newsletter content
Meeting notes and transcripts

Casual ideas or thoughts
Voice notes and recordings
Example prompts:
"Turn this article into 3 LinkedIn posts: [paste article]"

Powerful Workflow Examples
Workflow 1: Content Strategy Based on Performance
You: Get my last 5 LinkedIn posts with engagement metrics Claude: [Retrieves posts with full metrics] You: Analyze these. What patterns do you see in my best-performing posts? Claude: [Provides analysis of topics, length, format, timing] You: Based on that analysis, give me 5 post ideas that match those successful patterns Claude: [Generates specific ideas] You: Take the third idea and turn it into 3 post variants Claude: [Generates 3 variants] You: Schedule the second variant for Tuesday at 10 AM EST Claude: [Schedules the post]
Workflow 2: Repurpose Content Efficiently
You: I wrote this newsletter about [topic]: [paste newsletter content] Claude: I'll transform this into LinkedIn posts. You: Generate 3 LinkedIn post variants from this newsletter Claude: [Generates 3 optimized variants] You: The first variant is great. Can you make it slightly more conversational? Claude: [Adjusts the tone] You: Perfect. Publish it now. Claude: [Publishes to LinkedIn]
Workflow 3: Profile Optimization Insights
You: Show me my LinkedIn profile Claude: [Displays profile data] You: Based on my work experience and the posts I've been sharing, does my headline accurately reflect what I do? Claude: [Analyzes alignment] You: What would be a better headline based on my recent post topics? Claude: [Provides recommendations based on your actual content patterns]
Workflow 4: Weekly Content Planning
You: Retrieve my last 3 linkedin posts.
Claude: [Gets posts with engagement data]
You: What topics got the best engagement? And what days/times did I post them?
Claude: [Analyzes patterns]
You: Create a content plan for next week based on these insights. Give me post topics for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Claude: [Provides strategic plan]
You: Turn the Monday topic into 3 post variants now
Claude: [Generates variants]
You: Schedule the second variant for Monday at 9 AM EST
Claude: [Schedules post]
Understanding the Integration's Capabilities
What It Does
Retrieves your actual LinkedIn data: Real profile information and post metrics, not generic advice
Generates content from ANY source: Not just from Claude conversations - paste in newsletters, articles, notes, anything
Provides three variants per generation: Gives you options to choose from, each optimized differently
Enables conversational analysis: Ask follow-up questions, refine ideas, and iterate on strategy
Direct publishing workflow: From idea to published post without leaving Claude
On-demand data refresh: Update your data whenever you need current information
What It Doesn't Do
Doesn't automatically post for you: You control when and what gets published
Doesn't generate comments: This integration focuses on posts; use the Chrome Extension for commenting
Doesn't access others' profiles: Only your own LinkedIn data
Doesn't modify your profile: Only reads profile data, doesn't change it
Doesn't store conversation history outside Claude: Each conversation is independent unless you continue it
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Issue: "MCP Server Not Available" After Restart
Solution:
Wait a full 60 seconds after restarting Claude Desktop
The MCP server initialization can take up to a minute
Try closing and reopening Claude one more time
Check that you ran the installation command successfully (look for confirmation message)
Issue: Claude Can't Access My LinkedIn Data
Possible Causes and Solutions:
Pro Plan Not Active
This integration requires an active Pro Plan subscription - Verify your subscription here
LinkedIn Profile URL Not Set
The first time you use the integration, you may need to set your LinkedIn profile URL
Claude will prompt you if this is needed
Provide your full LinkedIn profile URL
Installation Command Expired
Installation commands may have a limited validity period
Generate a new command at ligo.ertiqah.com/integrations/claude
Run the new command and restart Claude
LinkedIn Profile Not Connected in LiGo
Ensure your LinkedIn profile is connected to LiGo
Visit your LiGo dashboard to verify the connection
The integration pulls from LiGo's data, which requires a connected LinkedIn account
Authentication Token Issue
Try logging out of LiGo and logging back in
Generate a fresh installation command
Run the command again in your terminal
Issue: Generated Posts Don't Match My Voice
Solution:
The post generation creates optimized variants, not voice-matched posts
For voice-matched content, use the LiGo web app which has access to your full voice training
This integration focuses on converting source material into LinkedIn-optimized formats
You can ask Claude to adjust tone: "Make this more conversational" or "Make this more professional"
Issue: Data Seems Outdated
Solution:
Ask Claude to refresh your data: "Refresh my LinkedIn posts data"
Data is cached for performance; refresh when you need current metrics
Profile data: "Refresh my LinkedIn profile data"
Posts data: "Refresh my LinkedIn posts data"
Issue: Installation Command Doesn't Work
macOS/Linux:
Ensure you have necessary permissions (may need to use sudo)
Check that your terminal has full disk access in System Preferences
Try running the command in a different terminal application
Windows:
Run PowerShell as Administrator
Ensure execution policies allow script execution
Check that you copied the entire command including any quotation marks
Issue: Can't Publish to LinkedIn
Solution:
Verify LinkedIn connection in LiGo web app
Check LinkedIn API permissions haven't been revoked
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your LinkedIn profile in LiGo settings
Ensure you have the latest version of Claude Desktop
Remember: Publishing happens through LiGo's infrastructure, not Claude directly
Issue: Scheduling Posts Fails
Solution:
Verify your scheduled time is in the future
Use ISO 8601 format for dates (e.g., '2025-12-31T10:00:00Z')
Check your timezone is correctly specified
Ensure you have remaining posts in your Pro Plan monthly allocation
Best Practices for Using the Integration
1. Start Conversations with Data Retrieval
Before generating content, pull in your actual LinkedIn data. This grounds Claude's recommendations in your real performance.
Example: "Get my last 5 posts and analyze which topics performed best. Then we'll create new content based on that."
2. Use Multi-Turn Conversations for Strategy
Don't treat this as a one-shot tool. Have actual conversations where Claude maintains context and builds on previous insights.
Example conversation:
"Show me my profile"
"Now get my recent posts"
"What's the gap between what my profile says and what I'm actually posting about?"
"Give me post ideas that bridge that gap"
3. Generate Multiple Variants, Then Refine
Always generate the three variants first, then ask Claude to adjust your preferred option.
Example: "Generate 3 posts from this idea. [Reviews options] I like the second one but make it more specific to B2B SaaS."
4. Leverage Any Content Source
Don't limit yourself to topics you discuss with Claude. Paste in newsletters, meeting notes, articles, or any content.
Example: "I'm sending you our team's internal strategy document. Generate 3 LinkedIn posts that share the key insights publicly (without revealing confidential details)."
5. Schedule During Planning Sessions
Use Claude for weekly content planning sessions where you generate and schedule multiple posts at once.
Example: "Let's plan my content for next week. Get my recent posts, identify what worked, generate posts for Monday/Wednesday/Friday based on that, and schedule them all."
6. Refresh Data Before Major Decisions
When making strategy decisions, refresh your data first to ensure you're working with current metrics.
Example: "Refresh my posts data, then analyze this month's performance and recommend focus areas for next month."
Security and Privacy
Data Access
The Claude Desktop integration:
Accesses only your LiGo account data (profile, posts, analytics)
Does not share your data with other LiGo users
Operates under the same security protocols as the LiGo web application
Uses encrypted authentication tokens for secure access
Claude does not get access to your LinkedIn account; it's only able to perform a set of specific, available actions related to your LiGo account.
Token Management
Your installation command contains a unique authentication token:
Treat it like a password - don't share it with others
If compromised, generate a new API key from LiGo Settings -> Integrations page. And then regenerate the installation command stated earlier in this article.
Tokens are tied to your LiGo account and Pro Plan subscription
Data Privacy
Conversations with Claude are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy
Your LinkedIn data is fetched on-demand, not stored in Claude's systems
Publishing happens through LiGo's infrastructure with your existing LinkedIn permissions
Revoking Access
To revoke Claude's access to your LiGo account:
Visit LiGo's claude integration page
Click Revoke Access or Deactivate Integration
Generate a new installation command if you want to re-enable it later
Integration Limitations
Monthly Limits
The integration uses your Pro Plan allocation:
Posting Credits, Repurposing Credits, Data Refreshes, Chat with your LinkedIn Data credits are what are mostly used but only when LiGo actions are called.
When it's Claude handling something, no credit deduction happens.
LinkedIn API Restrictions
Publishing limitations are set by LinkedIn's API
Some media types may have restrictions
(We do not officially support media uploads/post types via the Claude/ChatGPT integrations).
Data Refresh Frequency
Profile and posts data is cached for performance
Manually refresh when you need current data
Automatic refresh intervals help manage API usage

Common Questions
Q: What does the LiGo + Claude Desktop integration allow me to do?
The integration lets you bring your full LinkedIn presence into Claude. You can retrieve your profile data, analyze post performance, generate LinkedIn-optimized content from any source material, and publish or schedule posts directly without leaving Claude.
Q: What do I need before installing the integration?
You'll need an active LiGo Pro Plan, the Claude Desktop app, terminal access (macOS, Windows, or Linux), an active LiGo account linked to your LinkedIn profile, and your LinkedIn profile URL set inside LiGo.
Q: How do I know the integration installed correctly?
After running your unique installation command and restarting Claude Desktop, wait 10-60 seconds. If the MCP server initializes successfully, you’ll see LiGo tools available in the sidebar and Claude will respond to prompts about your LinkedIn presence.
Q: What kinds of actions can Claude perform once the integration is active?
Claude can retrieve your LinkedIn profile details, pull and analyze your recent posts, generate three LinkedIn-optimized post variants from any content you provide, help you plan your content strategy, and publish or schedule posts through LiGo.
Q: Why can’t Claude publish my posts or access my data?
This typically happens if your Pro Plan isn’t active, your LinkedIn profile isn’t connected to LiGo, your installation command has expired, or your LinkedIn URL wasn't set. Regenerating the installation command and reconnecting your LinkedIn account in LiGo usually resolves the issue.
