Editing responses on a Request or Organizer (not available on tax returns) allows you to answer questions and upload files on behalf of your client. This is especially useful when handling client responses received outside the system, such as documents dropped off in person or information collected during phone conversations.
Editing responses prevents clients from duplicating efforts and ensures the progress bar remains accurate.
Collaborating on Requests
Navigate to the Requests page.
Find the Request that you wish to collaborate on and click it to open.
Select the Change Responses button in the top right corner.
You can answer Yes/No questions, short answers, and upload files on the client's behalf.
Once finished, select Save Responses in the top right corner.
The client will see any changes made.
Note: Only responses can be edited once a Request has been sent. While you can edit the answers, questions on a sent Request can not be edited, added, or removed.
You cannot edit or sign on behalf of a client in a Smart Tax Delivery Request.
