🤝 Can I Pay Just My Share If I Split Rent with a Roommate?

Yes, as long as your property's portal accepts partial payments. If your roommate pays part of the rent directly to your tenant portal, you can pay the remaining amount using Livble.

🔄 How Do I Pay My Share After My Roommate Pays Theirs?

Step 1: Your Roommate Pays Their Portion

  • Your roommate pays their share directly in the property portal

Step 2: Wait for the Balance to Update

  • Give it time for the updated (lower) balance to reflect in Livble

  • 👉 Do this ahead of your due date. This gives enough time for the balance to update and for your payment to go through before rent is due.

Step 3: Open the Livble App

  • Livble checks your portal and sees the updated balance

  • Split the remaining amount using Livble

⚠️ If You See the Full Amount Instead of the Split Amount

  • Before splitting your rent, make sure the corrected (reduced) balance is reflected in both the property portal and in Livble

  • If it's not reflected yet, wait for the balance to update — don't pay until it does

  • Still showing the full amount after waiting? Contact support so we can take a look

🏠 Can Both My Roommate and I Use Livble?

Yes - as long as each of you has a separate user account in the property portal and a separate Livble account. Each roommate can sets up and manages their own Livble plan independently.

✍️ Can I Manually Enter My Rent Amount Instead?

On some properties, yes. Instead of waiting for Livble to detect your balance, you can enter your specific rent amount directly in the app.

This is currently for users using these tenant portals:

  • ManageGo

  • Bilt

  • Buildium

If your property uses a different portal, this option isn't available — Livble will rely on the automatically detected balance.

🤔 Why Can't I Edit My Rent Amount, Even Though My Property Is on a Supported Portal?

Being on a supported portal isn't always enough on its own — it also depends on your specific lease data:

  • Partial payments not allowed on your lease: manual entry may be locked to the full balance, or unavailable

  • Partial payments allowed: you can enter a lower amount

  • Paying above your balance allowed: you'll have more flexibility in the amount you enter

So two people on the same portal can have different experiences depending on their individual lease data.

✅ Quick Summary

  • Roommate pays their share in the portal (only possible if your portal accepts partial payments) → wait for the balance to update in Livble → open the app to pay the rest

  • Do this as early as possible — not last minute. A late fee can block your ability to split rent

  • Manual rent entry is only available on ManageGo, Bilt Partner, and Buildium Partner

  • Even on those portals, manual entry depends on what your lease allows

  • Still seeing the wrong amount? Contact support
