🟢 What Happens If My Installment Fails?
If a scheduled installment fails, Livble will automatically attempt to process it again. You can also manually reinitiate attempts from your account via the Livble widget or app. To avoid further issues, ensure your bank account has sufficient funds on installment dates and until the installment fully processes. If an automatic installment fails due to a disconnected bank account, making a manual payment promptly can prevent future service disqualification and ensure your account remains in good standing.
📘 Detailed Explanation
🔁 Automatic Retry Process
Livble will automatically retry the failed installment on subsequent business days and may make multiple attempts.
You can manually reinitiate a installment attempt from your Livble account using the widget or the app.
If the primary account debit fails, Livble may attempt to charge a secondary linked bank account.
Ensure your bank account has sufficient funds on payment dates and until the installment is successfully processed.
Failed installments can impact your monthly eligibility reassessment for future rent-splitting services.
🛠️ What You Can Do
You don't need to wait for the automatic retry. As soon as you have funds available you have two options directly from your Livble account:
Option 1 — Pay the failed installment manually:
Log in to your Livble account (via your tenant portal or app)
Locate the failed installment
Select ”Pay Next” to reinitiate the payment
Option 2 — Reschedule the installment to a new date:
Tap Edit Plan in your dashboard
Select the failed installment
Choose a new valid date within the current service month
Confirm your changes
💡 Acting quickly is always better. Resolving a failed installment early reduces the risk of fees, delinquency, and eligibility issues.
💡 Why installments Fail Even If You Had Money
Even if your account balance appears sufficient, your bank may return a payment with an R01 “Insufficient Funds” code if your available funds dropped below the required amount at the exact moment the debit was processed.
Banks determine whether a payment succeeds based on available funds, not your posted balance. The following do not count as available funds for ACH payments:
Overdraft protection
Pending deposits
Credit lines
Funds temporarily held by your bank
Banks often process transactions in varying orders so other pending withdrawals, card transactions, or temporary holds can reduce your available balance unexpectedly. This can cause the payment to return even when your displayed balance looked fine.
To prevent this, keep a small buffer in your account and ensure the full installment amount (plus any applicable fees) remains available until the debit fully clears.(2-3 business days)
⚠️ Potential Fees
Failed payment fee: If an installment payment attempt is returned by your bank due to insufficient funds, a $25 returned payment fee may apply.
To avoid failed payment fees, make sure funds are available at the time Livble attempts the debit, including during the 2–3 PM ET ACH window if your payment is scheduled.
Balances unpaid after 30 days are marked delinquent and will affect eligibility for future rent splits.
If your balance remains unpaid for 45 days after the loan origination date, a $15 late fee will be charged.
✅ Best Practices
Monitor your bank account to ensure sufficient funds are available on payment dates and until payments are fully processed.
Reinitiate payment attempts through your Livble account if the automatic retry is unsuccessful.
Livble will only attempt a payment if your account has the full installment amount and fee in available funds. Overdraft protection, pending deposits, or credit lines do not count as available funds, so payments won’t initiate if the balance isn't sufficient.
Avoid reversing or disputing installments, as this can disrupt your plan, affect your eligibility for future rent splits, and cause delinquency.
