Lockwell's desktop app makes it easy to import your existing passwords, whether you have them saved in a spreadsheet, your browser, or a different password manager. Before importing your passwords to Lockwell, you'll need to create a strong master password for your password vault.
For security, Lockwell doesn't save your master password, so make sure it's a password you will remember!
Import Your Passwords to Lockwell
Steps to Import:
Open the Lockwell desktop app
Open the password vault and unlock it with your master password
Click the
+
button, then clickImport
To upload a CSV file you can drag and drop your .csv from another application or browse for a file on your device.
Lockwell supports imports from the following password managers without any updates to the exported CSV file:
Keeper
1Password
LastPass
If you use an alternate password manager, you may need to format your exported CSV file prior to importing it to Lockwell.
Lockwell will display successful imports and identify any records that may have failed or run into an error.
Records that failed to be imported can be created directly in your password vault manually.
Successful Import with less than 10 failures
If Lockwell detects an error on your .csv file, it will continue to import the rest of your records. Lockwell will alert you with which rows encountered errors on your .csv file.
More than 10 failures
If Lockwell detects an error with your .csv file, you will receive a notification that the import failed giving you the option to Try again or format your spreadsheet manually.
Failed to Import
100% Successful Import
Import Tips:
If your team had a previous password manager and passwords have been shared with the team, we recommend all team members export only the records they own and share them with whoever on the team needs access after importing them to Lockwell.
Import the accounts/records you own (not accounts that have been shared with you) into Lockwell's password vault.
Once your records are safely imported into Lockwell's vault, you can then proceed to share them with your team as needed.
