How to Block Malicious Email Senders in Your Google Workspace Account

Blocking unwanted or malicious email senders in your Google Workspace account can help keep your inbox safe and organized. Follow these simple steps to block a sender:

Step 1: Open Gmail

  1. Log in to your Google Workspace account.

  2. Go to Gmail by clicking on the Gmail icon.

Step 2: Locate the Email

  1. Find an email from the sender you want to block.

  2. Open the email by clicking on it.

Step 3: Block the Sender

  1. In the email, click on the three vertical dots (More options) in the top right corner of the message.

  2. Select "Block [Sender's Name]" from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Confirm Blocking

  1. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click "Block" to confirm.

Step 5: Check Blocked Senders (Optional)

  1. To see a list of blocked senders, go to Settings by clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner.

  2. Click on "See all settings."

  3. Navigate to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab to review or manage your blocked addresses.

Step 6: Report Phishing (Optional)

If you suspect the email was a phishing attempt:

  1. Click on the three vertical dots in the email.

  2. Select "Report phishing."

Additional Tips

  • Unblocking a Sender: If you change your mind, you can unblock a sender from the same "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab in settings.

  • Using Filters: For more advanced control, consider creating filters to automatically delete or archive emails from specific senders.
