Can I use Log Ninja without an internet connection?

Written by Kris

Yes. Log Ninja features a full offline mode, meaning you can continue to use the app even when you drive through remote areas with no cellular signal.

When your device loses its internet connection, the app will automatically switch to offline mode and display a banner at the top of your screen so you are aware of your connectivity status.

Here is exactly how Log Ninja handles your data and what you can (and cannot) do while offline:

🟒 What you CAN do offline

  • You can continue to create logbook entries and record all your duty changes (work and rest events).

  • You can still access the app using your 4-digit PIN, provided you were already logged into your account before your device went offline.

  • All logbook entries created offline are securely saved locally on your device to ensure no data is lost.

  • Logs from your current and previous accumulated work periods are kept in your local storage. This ensures you can always present your recent records to enforcement officers at the roadside, even without a signal.

  • You can view your existing user details.

πŸ”΄ What you CANNOT do offline (Internet required)

While Log Ninja functions independently of a data connection for tracking entries, a stable internet connection is required for sharing data and making account changes. You will need to wait until you are back online to perform the following actions:

  • You cannot email your logs to your employer or export reports to authorities while offline, as the app needs an internet connection to securely transmit the data.

  • You cannot edit your personal account details or add new companies to your profile.

πŸ”„ Automatic syncing

You don't need to do anything extra when you get your signal back. As soon as your phone reconnects to the internet, Log Ninja automatically updates and syncs your logs for you.
