Updating Image Metadata from Placeholder Images

You can automatically update metadata (like alt text or descriptions) for existing replacement images in your Media Library based on a template image.#

Steps to Enable Metadata Updates

  1. Ensure Image Processing is Enabled
Go to your LPagery settings and make sure image processing is turned on.

  2. Open the Media Library
Navigate to your WordPress Media Library.

  3. Search for the Placeholder Image
Locate the image that you're using as a placeholder for dynamic replacements.

  4. Enable Metadata Update
Check the box labeled "Update Metadata" in the image details panel.

Once this option is enabled and you run a page creation or update:

  • If a replacement image is found for the placeholder image, LPagery will update only the metadata fields that contain placeholders in the template image.

  • Fields with static text will be left unchanged.

Examples:

  • "Alt-Tag in {city}" → will be updated

  • "My cool Alt-Tag" → will remain unchanged
