How to enter the basic information for your shipment.

Sample Basic Info Page

  1. The first step is to open LTL Select and click Book Shipment.

  2. Choose a Bill to Location from the drop down. The dropdown reflects the accounts you have set-up in LTL Select.

  3. Enter the Ship Date from the pop-pop calendar. You can set a future date.

    1. A calendar window will open to allow you to select a specific date for shipment to be picked up.

      1. For FedEx shipments, you can schedule out up to 14 days in advance.

      2. For FedEx Freight Direct Returns, you can schedule out up to 7 days in advance.

  4. Select either Outbound or Inbound. Outbound is set to default.

  5. Select the appropriate payment terms for your shipment.

  6. Check Protect From Freezing or In-Bond Shipment if applicable to the shipment.

  7. Click Next to proceed to step 2.

NOTE: Cut off for same day electronic bookings is 3pm local time.

Definitions

Outbound

The shipping out of finished products to customers from a warehouse or distribution center.

Inbound

A shipment that comes from a vendor to a business or facility, like a warehouse

In-Bond Shipment

An imported or exported shipment that has yet to be cleared by Customs. The in-bond shipment process allows for the goods to be moved or stored by the government, even if they have not been obtained approval by Customs.

Third Party

A form of billing where an intermediary handles the invoicing and payment between a purchaser and a vendor.
