What is Freight Box?

Freight Box is a flat-rate packaging option and simplifies the way a business can ship goods. This product is available for U.S. domestic shipping. When shipping freight box the user does not need to know the freight class, and can ship any weight up to 1200 lbs. This feature allows users to access their Freight Box account on the LTL Select platform and avoid unexpected fees.

Note: Freight Box is not available on "GET RATES".

How To Set Up Freight Box?

Any FedEx Shipper Account can add Freight Box to their locations in LTL Select.

  1. Navigate to "Locations" from the left hand navigation pane.

  2. Scroll down and click + Add Location located on the left in the Location Overview section.

  3. Check the box next to "FedEx Shipper Account".

  4. From the FedEx Account Type dropdown menu, select "FedEx Freight Box".

  5. Complete all other required fields and click Add on the bottom right.

Note: Shipping Information must match the Billing Address on file with FedEx for the Freight Box account.

The total weight cannot exceed more than 1200 pounds (lbs) per handling unit. If weight entered exceeds 1200 pounds (lbs) per handling unit an error will display.

A description of the item is required to move forward.
