Freight Direct is a white glove B2C freight service that FedEx offers to its customers. With this service, shippers' customers can get items delivered to their home or business under 4 different services types:

1. Basic: delivery to the ground level (front or back door) or to the garage without an appointment

2. Basic By Appointment: delivery to the ground level (front or back door) or to the garage with an appointment

3. Standard: to the first ground-level room in the home or business

4 Premium: those requiring a two-person delivery, and/or placement in room of choice

How To Add A FedEx Freight Direct Account To LTL Select

FedEx Freight Direct is available for FedEx Freight Direct Accounts in LTL Select. You first have to have a FedEx Freight Direct Account set up with FedEx and then add as a location in LTL Select.

For steps on how to set up an account on LTL Select please review this article. If you have an already existing LTL Select account and want to add a FedEx Freight Direct account to LTL Select, please follow the steps outlined here.

How To Schedule A FedEx Freight Direct Shipment

1. Navigate to the Book Shipment workflow by selecting BOOK SHIPMENT from the LTL Select Dashboard.

2. In Step One, select the FedEx Freight Direct Bill To Location from the dropdown menu. On steps how to book a Freight Direct Shipment please click here. Click NEXT.

NOTE: Both FedEx shipper and third party account types can be used Freight Direct.

3. Step Two, enter the Origin for the shipment. For a shipper account this will default to the Bill To’s shipping address location. For a third party account, the fields will be blank. Click NEXT or hit ENTER.

4. Step Three, enter the Destination information. For both shipper and third party accounts, you can enter a new address or search for a contact from a previous shipment booked on LTL Select by typing in the search field. Click NEXT or hit ENTER.

5. Complete all the required information marked with an * for the items to be included with your shipment as part of Line Items Step 4. Specific for Freight Direct Shipments, the Count and Weight Per Piece are required. You can also search for an existing item by typing in the search field. Click GET RATES or hit ENTER once complete.

6. Available Rates will be displayed on Step 5 for each service type; Basic, Basic by Appointment, Standard, and Premium. Select the Rate.

7. To complete scheduling the Freight Direct Shipment complete all the required information on Step 6 Finalize, and proceed to Step 7 Review and Book.

8. Select BOOK SHIPMENT to schedule the pick up.

The next screen will provide a preview of the labels as well as the shipment summary. This information and related documentation will now appear on your Dashboard as well.
