For LTL Select Users, the Quick Rate page is a simple and effective method to return quotes from carriers when scheduling a pick-up is not required:

1. Select QUICK RATE at the top of the screen, then enter the Origin Information. For FedEx Shipper accounts this will default to your Bill To Location. For a third-party account, you can enter any address for the Origin.
NOTE: The options for Outbound versus Inbound shipments will also be available for a shipper account type.
2. The next step is to select the Ship Date by clicking on the Ship Date field. A calendar pop-up will appear. You can enter a date up to 14 days out to return a rate for FedEx accounts.
3. For shipper accounts only, please select the appropriate Payment Terms for the shipment.
4. Complete the Destination Information by either searching for an existing contact in the search field or entering the Zip Code, City, and State.
For International Shipments (Canada, Mexico) you will also be prompted to select your Preferred Currency and Preferred System of Measurement.
NOTE: Pick Up and Delivery Accessorials are available for shipper and third-party shipments only. You can add these by turning on their respective toggles. The options are not available for Freight Direct accounts.
5. For Line Item Information, only the Freight Class, Handling Unit (H/U) count, and Total weight are required. If you are not sure of your Freight Class you can use the link provided for the FedEx Freight Class calculator. Links to Harmonized Shipping Codes are also provided for both US and Canada.
NOTE: For Freight Direct and International (Canada, Mexico) Rate Quotes full line item details are required.
Once all information on the page has been entered, click GET RATES to complete the quote. You will be taken to the Rates page. This completes the Quick Rate.
To schedule a pick-up for any rates that were returned click on the rate. You will be prompted with the following message:
Click CONTINUE to move to the Book Shipment workflow. Troubleshooting Quick Rate Issues While the Quick Rate tool is designed to provide fast and convenient quotes, you may occasionally encounter issues when using this feature:
1. Missing Information The system sometimes requires specific details that the Quick Rate tool cannot provide. If you experience an issue with Quick Rate, it might be due to missing or incomplete information. In such cases, the Quick Rate feature may fail to generate results.
2. No Carrier Availability Another common issue is when Quick Rate states that no carrier is available for your shipment. This indicates that carrier options for your selected criteria are unavailable at that moment. Alternative Solution: Using the Book Shipment Workflow when facing issues with the Quick Rate tool, using the Book Shipment workflow can help resolve them by ensuring all necessary information is included:
Access the Book Shipment workflow section
Input all required shipment details accurately
Proceed to the Rates Step (Step 5) in the workflow
Generate rates and save the quote to your dashboard for review This method provides a more comprehensive approach and increases the likelihood of successfully generating rates without errors.
