Resource usage notifications help you stay informed about how your VPS behaves under load.
Instead of checking graphs manually, you can receive alerts when CPU memory or network usage crosses limits you define. This makes it easier to spot problems early and keep services stable.
You can configure these notifications directly from the LumaDock control panel for each server.
Open the resource notifications menu
Log in to your LumaDock client area and open My servers. Select the VPS you want to monitor and click Manage.
From the server menu open Resource notifications.
Choose Create notification.
Configure notification details
Each field in the form controls how and when alerts are sent. Understanding them helps avoid false alarms or missed warnings.
Name
The name is only for identification. Use something descriptive so you can recognize it later such as High CPU usage or Memory limit warning.
Status
This toggle enables or disables the notification. You can turn a rule off temporarily without deleting it.
Notifications interval
This defines how often emails are sent after the condition is met. Short intervals send alerts more frequently while longer intervals reduce noise during sustained usage.
Data timeframe
The timeframe controls how much recent data is evaluated before triggering an alert. A higher value smooths out short spikes and focuses on sustained usage.
Exceed all
When enabled all defined thresholds must be exceeded at the same time before an alert is sent. When disabled any single threshold can trigger the notification.
Email address
This is where alert messages are delivered. Use an address that is actively monitored especially for production servers.
Set resource thresholds
Thresholds define what level of usage should trigger an alert. You can configure one or several values depending on your needs.
Network traffic percentage
Sends an alert when network usage exceeds the specified percentage of the available capacity. Useful for detecting traffic spikes or unusual activity.
CPU usage percentage
Triggers when CPU usage stays above the defined limit. This often indicates heavy processes misconfiguration or traffic surges.
Memory usage percentage
Sends an alert when RAM usage crosses the selected threshold. This helps prevent application crashes caused by memory exhaustion.
Save and manage notifications
After reviewing all settings click Confirm to create the notification. You can edit disable or remove notification rules at any time from the same menu.
Resource notifications are lightweight and do not affect server performance. They are designed to give early signals so you can take action before users notice problems.
