Mar. 5, 2026 | Improved Grade-Level Alignment for AI Responses | MagicSchool has improved how AI responses align with the grade level selected in tool settings. Updates to our system instructions for both student and teacher experiences help ensure that generated content better matches the intended reading level, complexity, and instructional needs of the selected grade. This means teachers can expect outputs that are more developmentally appropriate for their students—making it easier to use AI-generated materials confidently in the classroom. | Teachers, Students |
Mar. 5, 2026 | Admin Email Alerts Now Link Directly to Flagged Messages | For organizations using Advanced Moderation, admin email alerts for high-risk student messages now take you directly to the relevant conversation thread. Previously, alerts opened the general room list, making it harder to quickly review the flagged message and take action.
| Org Admins |
Mar. 4, 2026 | MagicStudent: Export Student & Teacher AI Conversations | Organization partners can now enable PDF exports of MagicStudent conversation threads for both students and teachers. When activated by your organization through your Customer Success Manager, students can download their full AI conversations and teachers can export student threads from rooms they manage.
This makes it easier to collect work for grading, store artifacts in district systems like Google Drive, or share conversations with administrators when needed. Exports include the instructional conversation between the student and AI while excluding internal moderation signals, helping schools maintain transparency around AI-assisted work while protecting privacy and safety systems. | Org Admins |
Mar. 3, 2026 | Studio Mode in Raina Now Available to All Users | Studio Mode is now available in Raina for all MagicSchool users, giving educators a more powerful way to edit and refine AI-generated content directly inside their conversations. When enabled, outputs appear in a side-by-side workspace where users can format, revise, and improve materials without needing to regenerate responses.
Studio Mode must be turned on using the Studio button in the chat each time it’s needed. Free users can edit and refine documents in Studio Mode across Raina, the Lesson Plan Generator, and the Worksheet Generator, while export and chat-based refinement features remain available to paid plans.
In addition, Studio Mode now supports graph rendering, allowing users to visualize certain outputs directly within the workspace. | Teachers |

Jan. 28, 2026 | Strengthening Student AI Safety & Clarity | We’ve made updates to student-facing AI experiences across MagicSchool to reinforce safe, responsible use and clearer learning boundaries.
These changes introduce clearer framing for AI roleplay activities, ensure students understand when they’re interacting with a learning simulation (not a real person), and update student chat experiences to use neutral, function-based language. Together, they help keep AI focused on learning outcomes—without encouraging emotional dependency or confusion about what AI is.
These updates reflect MagicSchool’s ongoing commitment to building the safest AI tools in education and aligning globally to emerging best practices in responsible AI design. | Teachers, Students |
Jan. 28, 2026 | Class Writing Feedback | The updated Class Writing Feedback workflow helps teachers review AI-suggested comments based on their rubric, personalize them, and return feedback in batches.
Teachers deliver high-quality, timely feedback faster than ever—supporting stronger student revision while reducing grading time and burnout.
| Teachers, Students |
Jan. 28, 2026 | MagicQuizzes | MagicQuizzes lets teachers create low-stakes, standards-aligned formative assessments in seconds and provides immediate summaries of student understanding.
With real-time insight into student needs, teachers can adjust instruction the very next day, enabling more targeted support and data-informed teaching.
| Teachers, Students |
Jan. 28, 2026 | Studio Mode | Studio Mode introduces a document-style workspace where teachers can generate, edit, and organize lesson materials and scaffolds in a clean, structured format.
Teachers save significant planning time and can create aligned, editable instructional materials more efficiently— helping them focus more on students, not systems.
Users on the Free plan will be able to generate a document in Studio Mode, but will not have access to advanced editing features.
