How to Categorize Assignments with Topics

Topics help organize assignments into reusable categories, similar to folders.

Teachers can use topics to:

  • group assignments by unit or skill

  • organize quizzes and assessments

  • quickly filter assignment lists

  • keep content easier to manage throughout the school year

Assign a Topic to an Assignment

  1. Open the Assignments tab.

  2. Click the three dots (...) next to the assignment.

  3. Select Change Topic.

Choose or Create a Topic

To use an existing topic:

  • select the topic from the list

To create or manage topics:

  1. Click Edit.

  2. Create, rename, or delete topics as needed.

Save the Topic

  1. Select the topic you want to assign.

  2. Click Save.

The topic will appear on the far-right side of the assignment list.

Filter Assignments by Topic

Use the Filter option above the assignment list to quickly view assignments by topic.
