Students can:
revisit skills they struggled with in assignments
receive immediate feedback while practicing
build fluency through repeated practice
work independently using familiar Magma tools and manipulatives
Teachers can also recommend specific skills to:
individual students
small groups
entire classes
How Practice Mode Works
Next Up: Personalized Practice
When students click Start, Magma automatically recommends skills based on recent assignment performance. This helps students focus on:
unfinished learning
missed concepts
targeted skill review
Students do not need to search for skills manually — Magma selects the most relevant starting point automatically.
Track Progress with the Progress Chart
At the top of the Practice tab, students see a progress chart showing growth across standards and domains. The chart reflects work completed in:
assignments
Practice Mode sessions
Because assignment performance is included, students may already show progress in a standard before directly practicing it in Practice Mode.
This helps students better understand:
what they’ve already mastered
where they still need support
how their learning is progressing over time
Browse by Domain and Standard
Students can explore practice content by:
domain
standard
topic area
Green checkmarks indicate standards where all associated skills have been completed.
This organization helps students:
navigate practice more easily
stay focused within a topic
track progress clearly
Earn Stars Through Practice
After completing a practice set, students receive a star rating based on accuracy.
Stars | Accuracy |
⭐ | 50–69% |
⭐⭐ | 70–89% |
⭐⭐⭐ | 90–100% |
Students unlock the next skill after earning at least 1 star and can always return later to improve their score.
Access Practice Mode Anytime
Students can open Practice Mode anytime from the Practice tab on their dashboard — even when no assignment is active.
