Why this feature matters for teachers & district leaders

The Distribution tab shows how student performance is spread across score ranges, helping leaders understand who is succeeding, who may need support, and whether performance is clustered or widely varied.

  • Moves beyond averages to reveal variability in student outcomes

  • Makes it easy to spot concentrations of students needing intervention or extension

  • Supports equitable, data-informed conversations at scale

District Assignment Distribution Tab Flow

  1. Open a district-wide assignment and navigate to Distribution.

  2. Review the student distribution chart, grouped by correctness ranges (0–19%, 20–39%, etc.).

  3. Use Add (+) to overlay another district-wide assignment:

    • Assignments appear side by side for easy comparison over time.

  4. Compare distributions to see shifts in student performance, highlighting growth, stagnation, or regression.

Tip: Comparing distributions surfaces trends that averages alone may hide.

Instructional Impact

The Distribution tab helps leaders understand what’s underneath the score:

  • Determines whether averages are driven by a few students or broad trends

  • Guides decisions around intervention, enrichment, or instructional adjustments

  • Makes growth or regression visible across multiple assignments

  • Informs next steps before diving into standards, classes, or individual problems

Pro Tip: Use the Distribution tab alongside the Score tab:

  • Score tab: Shows overall group performance

  • Distribution tab: Shows how performance is spread within the group
Together, they guide where to look next and how to respond instructionally.
