District Start Guide: How to use Magma Math

Logging In: Get Started with Your SSO 🔐

To log in to Magma Math, visit https://app.magmamath.com/signin, and you can use one of the following SSO options:

  • Clever

  • ClassLink

  • Microsoft

  • Google

  • Schoology

  • Canvas

    Note for Teachers: Check with your administration to find out which SSO option to use and if there are any specific instructions for logging in.


What Teachers and Students See 👩‍🏫

The views for teachers and students differ based on their roles. Here’s a breakdown of what each sees:

Teacher View

  • Dashboard: Overview of all classes and student progress.

  • Class Management: Ability to manage classes, add/remove students, and view class rosters.

  • Assignments: Create, assign, and track student progress on assignments.

  • Performance Data: Visual representation of student performance.

Student View

  • Assignments: List of current and upcoming assignments, with a progress bar indicating completion.

  • Interactive Tools: Access to math tools to complete assignments.


District Dashboard Features 📊

The District Dashboard empowers leaders to centralize assignment management and gain actionable insights across schools.

Centralized Assignment Management

  • District Assignment Creation: Build assignments for consistent use across schools, aligned to pacing guides and district priorities.

  • Status Options: Assignments can be Published, Unpublished, Scheduled, or saved as Draft.

  • Student Enrollment: Students can self-enroll via class code or be added manually for consistent rollout.

Real-Time Data & Insights

  • Score Tab: High-level overview of performance by class or school. Spot trends, identify strengths, and flag areas needing attention.

  • Distribution Tab: See how student scores are spread across performance ranges, highlighting students who need intervention or enrichment.

  • Standards Tab: Connect performance to instructional standards to pinpoint gaps and prioritize reteaching.

  • Problem Analysis: Drill into student thinking at the problem level to identify misconceptions, instructional needs, and system-wide trends.

Roles & Permissions

  • Assignment Editor: Can create, edit, delete, and view statistics for district assignments within assigned schools.

  • Assignment Viewer: Can view assignments and statistics but cannot modify them.

  • Partner with Customer Success to maximize data alignment and district impact.
