Highlight Student Vocabulary gives students instant, plain-language definitions of key math terms while they work. Vocabulary is automatically matched to students’ grade level, with examples and illustrations to help make unfamiliar terms easier to understand.

New students now get a quick guided introduction the first time they open an assignment. Lava walks them through showing their work and submitting an answer, helping students learn the solve screen before jumping into classwork. The intro can be skipped, respects Mature Mode, and is currently available on web for assignments and exams.

Start Lesson brings Magma’s classroom tools together into one guided lesson experience. From any assignment, teachers can move through key vocabulary, example problems, timed student solving, Live Activity, and a wrap-up discussion based on student work.

With Classroom View for projection and Teacher View for monitoring student thinking, teachers can guide the lesson from launch to wrap-up without leaving Magma.

Follow-Up Assignments make differentiation a one-click action. Based on assignment results, Magma automatically groups students into Challenge, Repetition, or Fundamentals and creates targeted practice matched to their needs. Currently available for CCSS states, Texas, Arizona, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Virginia.

The new onboarding experience walks teachers through a few key setup steps: telling Magma about their role and how they plan to use the platform, reviewing their classes and adding missing grade levels, setting up their book list, and seeing a quick demo of Magma in action. Whether teachers log in before, during, or after a training session, they’ll have a clear path to get oriented, confirm their setup, and start the school year ready to use Magma with their students.
