Pupil Progress Tab

The new Pupil Progress tab gives pupils a clearer, more motivating way to track their learning over time — all in one place.

The Big Picture (Pie Chart View)

At the top of the Progress tab, pupils will see a pie chart that shows their overall progress.

This view combines work from:

  • Practice

  • Assignments

…and turns it into a simple visual snapshot of how they're getting on.

Instead of guessing where they stand, pupils can now quickly see:

  • How much they've completed

  • Where they're doing well

  • Where they may need more practice

👉 This helps pupils make more informed decisions about what to work on next.

A More Organised Practice Experience

Practice is now grouped in a way that's easier to navigate and understand. Instead of scrolling through a long list of skills, pupils will see:

  • Content organised by standards and domains

  • Clear groupings of related topics

This makes it easier for pupils to:

  • Find what they need

  • Stay focused

  • Build understanding within a topic

A More Guided Learning Path

Pupils now choose a topic area to work in, rather than jumping between isolated skills. This helps:

  • Reduce overwhelm

  • Encourage deeper learning

  • Keep pupils progressing in a more structured way

What Hasn't Changed

Everything pupils already know and love still works the same:

  • They can still solve problems and show their work using the canvas

  • The drawing tools and question experience are unchanged

  • Practice still works the same behind the scenes

Why This Matters for Teachers

The Progress view (including the pie chart) helps pupils take more ownership of their learning. Pupils are better able to:

  • Understand their progress at a glance

  • Identify what to focus on next

  • Stay motivated with a clear sense of direction

What stays the same:

  • Solving problems, drawing, and answering questions all work exactly the same

  • Practice still functions as usual behind the scenes
