🛡️Manage Roles and Permissions

Control what employees can see or do in the POS by assigning them to roles with specific permissions.

🧱 What Is a Role?

A role is a group of permissions that define what an employee can access or perform in the POS (e.g., Server, Bartender, Manager).

💡 Every POS employee must be assigned a role.

🛠️ How to Create or Edit a Role

  1. Go to Users > Roles and Permissions

  2. Click Create New Role or use the ••• menu to edit an existing one

3. Fill in the required fields:

  • Set the Role Name

  • Toggle permissions ON or OFF by category:

    • Ordering

    • Configuration

    • Reporting

    • Miscellaneous

  • Click Save

🔐 Example: Permissions Overview

Category

Sample Permissions

Ordering

Void item, Add remark, Access tables, Transfer table

Reporting

View end-of-day reports, Produce reports

Configuration

Change printer/payment settings

Miscellaneous

Login without punch, Edit timesheets

🔍 Tip: Use the “Access to order sections” toggle as the base for POS use. If OFF, the employee cannot use the POS interface, but only the punch function; ex: for kitchen employees.

✅ Best Practices

  • Create distinct roles for Server, Manager, Bartender, and Kitchen Staff

  • Keep only essential permissions active to reduce errors

  • Review permissions when staff responsibilities change
