📋 Menu Configuration

Manage your active menu, external ordering integrations, loyalty eligibility, and POS countdown items.

📋 Finding Menu Configuration

1️⃣In the left sidebar, go to Menu → Configuration.

The Configuration page is a hub that gives you quick access to the main sections. Click Access on any card to open that section.

Menu Configuration hub

Section

What it configures

Current menu settings

The active menu: whether the location uses a custom menu or an organization-managed shared menu, global menu settings, custom tax rules by category, and cart configuration.

External Ordering

Integration settings for iShopFood and UEAT — enables the integration per platform and assigns revenue centers to order types (default, takeout, delivery).

Item Countdown Eligibility

Which products and modifiers can display a live quantity countdown on the POS.

Loyalty Item Eligibility

Which categories, products, modifiers, and remark groups are eligible to accumulate loyalty points. Accessible from the sidebar.

🍽️ Current Menu Settings

This section controls your active menu configuration and is divided into four sections accessible via the left-side navigation panel.

Menu Selection

This is where you assign a menu to the company location. POS terminals are onboarded to a company location and automatically use the menu assigned to it — there is no per-terminal menu assignment.

Critically, you have two options for the type of menu the location uses:

Option

When to use it

Custom menu

The location manages its own menu independently. Changes made here only affect this location.

Menu managed by the organization

The location uses a shared menu published from the organization level. This is how multi-location groups standardize menus across sites — any update to the org menu propagates automatically to all locations using it.

Current menu settings – Menu Selection

1️⃣Click Access on the Current menu settings card.

2️⃣In the left panel, select Menu selection.

3️⃣Choose Custom menu if this location manages its own menu, or Menu managed by the organization to use the shared org-level menu.

4️⃣Select the specific menu from the list, then click Save.

ℹ️ Switching a location from a custom menu to an org-managed menu means all future menu changes must be made at the organization level. This is the recommended setup for multi-location groups that want consistent menus.

Menu Settings

Configure global menu properties such as currency, default tax settings, and which languages are available in the POS interface.

Current menu settings – Menu Settings

1️⃣In the left panel, select Menu Settings.

2️⃣Adjust currency, tax display, and language options as required.

3️⃣Click Save.

💡 The other two sections in this panel — Configuration of custom taxes by category and Cart configuration — let you apply category-level tax overrides and customize cart behaviour (e.g. rounding rules, tip prompts) respectively.

🌐 External Ordering

iShopFood and UEAT are external online ordering platforms. Virtuo syncs your menu to each platform through revenue centers, which lets you control exactly which pricing tier and item selection each platform and order type receives.

The left-side navigation shows a Default tab plus one tab per configured integration (iShopFood, UEAT). For each integration, you can configure three order types: Default, Takeout, and Delivery.

External Ordering – iShopFood revenue center assignment

1️⃣Click Access on the External Ordering card.

2️⃣In the left panel, select the platform you want to configure (e.g. iShopFood).

3️⃣Toggle Enable external ordering integration on to activate the platform.

4️⃣Select the inner tab for each order type (Default, Takeout, Delivery) and assign the correct Revenue Center from the dropdown.

5️⃣Optionally set the Check Printer for this platform.

6️⃣Click Save.

💡 Assigning a Delivery revenue center to the Delivery tab ensures customers on that platform see delivery-specific prices. If no revenue center is assigned to an order type, that order type will fall back to the Default assignment.

⭐ Loyalty Item Eligibility

Controls which items accumulate loyalty points when customers order through integration partners. You can configure eligibility across four item types: Categories, Products, Modifiers, and Remark Groups — each shown as a selectable list above the dual-list panel. Click the item type to switch the list view.

Loyalty Item Eligibility selector

1️⃣In the left sidebar, go to Menu → Configuration, then click Loyalty Item Eligibility in the sidebar (or use the hub card if available).

2️⃣Click the item type you want to configure (Categories, Products, Modifiers, or Remark Groups) to load that list.

3️⃣In the Not eligible for loyalty accumulation list, select one or more items — you can multi-select — and click the orange > arrow to move them to Eligible for loyalty accumulation.

4️⃣To remove eligibility, select items in the right list and click the orange < arrow.

5️⃣Use Select all / Unselect all for bulk changes. Use the search bar to filter long lists.

6️⃣Click Save.

💡 Eligibility is independent per item type — configuring Categories does not automatically apply to the Products within them. If your loyalty program charges per product, configure the Products list directly.

⏱️ Item Countdown Eligibility

Designates which items can be assigned a live quantity countdown on the POS. When enabled for an item, staff can set an available quantity on the POS workstation — the count decrements with each order and the item becomes unavailable when it reaches zero. Ideal for daily specials, chef's features, or any limited-supply dish.

You can configure countdown eligibility for Products and Modifiers separately. Click the item type label above the dual-list panel to switch between them.

Item Countdown Eligibility selector

1️⃣Click Access on the Item Countdown Eligibility card.

2️⃣Click Products or Modifiers to load that item list.

3️⃣In the Not eligible for countdown list, select one or more items — you can multi-select — and click the orange > arrow to move them to Eligible for countdown.

4️⃣To remove an item, select it in the right list and click <.

5️⃣Click Save.

💡 Adding an item here only makes it eligible for a countdown — staff must still activate and set the quantity on the POS for each service period.
