If your organization runs multiple locations, Maitre'D Virtuo can manage menus centrally with global menus: you build a menu once at the organization level and assign it to the locations that use it, instead of each location maintaining its own. These settings appear only for multi-location organizations.
🌐 Global Menu settings
Open Global Menu settings in the Back Office to manage your menus. You can:
Add a new menu (empty).
Add a copy of a menu, cloning from an existing location or another global menu.
Edit a menu's name, or delete a menu (a menu still assigned to locations can't be deleted).
Choose Fields editable by companies — the fields individual locations are allowed to override on their own copy: out of stock, external ID, catalog exclusions, description, and prices.
🚫 Marking a product out of stock
To make a product unavailable, set its Out of stock option to Yes in the Back Office. This is available on items (and their variants), modifiers, and combo products. Where you've allowed it, individual locations can toggle out of stock on their own copy of a global-menu item.
ℹ️ Out of stock is a Back Office on/off flag — different from Item Countdown, which is a live remaining-quantity meter (see Item Countdown). At the POS, staff see an Out of stock badge and can't change it there; if an item runs out mid-order, the POS offers to remove it.
📋 Menu unavailability report
The Menu unavailability report (under Global Reports) lists everything currently marked out of stock across your locations, in four sections — Items, Variants, Modifiers, and Combo products — showing which locations have each product out of stock. Each section can be exported to CSV.
💡 Good to know
Global menus, the Fields editable by companies option, and the unavailability report appear only for multi-location organizations.
Out of stock is set in the Back Office, not at the POS.
