External Ordering connects Maitre'D Virtuo to third-party online ordering so incoming orders flow straight into your POS. The currently supported integration is UEAT. Availability depends on your account — the External Ordering settings appear when your organization uses global menus (multi-location) and the integration has been enabled for you.
⚙️ Setting up External Ordering (Back Office)
Open External Ordering in the Back Office. For each service (for example UEAT) you can:
Turn on Enable external ordering integration for that service.
Set the configuration per ordering method — Default, Takeout, and Delivery — each with its own Check Printer and Revenue Center.
💡 The default configuration applies unless you set specific values for a particular method.
🔑 UEAT connection details
On the UEAT tab, enter the HQ ID and Location ID provided for your restaurant, and manage your API key (you can show or rotate it). These link your POS to your UEAT account.
⏱️ Kitchen printing timing
The Print to kitchen on reception toggle controls when a UEAT order reaches the kitchen:
Setting | What happens |
On | The order prints in the kitchen immediately when it's received. |
Off | For scheduled orders, kitchen printing is held until the order's scheduled preparation time. (ASAP orders still print right away.) |
🖥️ External orders at the POS
Incoming external orders appear in the External orders tab of the Order Overview and on the Dashboard, where you can filter by service. When an order arrives, the POS can prompt you to print a copy of the check, showing details such as the scheduled pickup time, preparation time, and kitchen printing time. Scheduled items are held and fired at the right time based on the timing setting above.
💡 Good to know
External Ordering settings appear only for organizations using global menus (multi-location), and after the integration is enabled for your account.
UEAT is the currently supported third-party ordering integration.
