📍 Getting There
1️⃣In the org sidebar, click Global Menu to expand it.
2️⃣Click Global Menu settings (the first sub-item).
Alternatively: from the Global Menu hub, click Access on the Global Menu settings card, or click Access → Current menu settings → Global Menu settings.
📋 Managing Global Menus
The top section of this page lists all global menus that exist under the organization. Each menu has a name and an internal system ID (e.g., QC Menu #11, ON Menu #12, GC Vertigo Copy #138). From this list you can create, rename, and delete global menus.
Creating a New Global Menu
Two creation options are available:
Option | What it does | When to use |
Create a blank menu | Starts a new, completely empty global menu. No categories, products, or modifiers — you build it from scratch. | New concept, a regional menu with no overlap with existing menus, or when you want full control from the start. |
Copy an existing menu | Duplicates an existing global menu (including all its categories, products, modifiers, and settings) into a new named menu. The copy is fully independent — changes to the original do not affect the copy, and vice versa. | Creating a regional variant of an existing menu (e.g., a summer menu based on the standard menu), or rolling out a near-identical menu to a new region. |
💡 After creating a global menu, switch to it using the menu selector dropdown at the top of the Global Menu hub to start editing its content (categories, products, modifiers, etc.).
Renaming or Deleting a Global Menu
Each menu in the list has edit and delete controls. Renaming a menu does not affect any locations currently using it — the internal system ID stays the same. Deleting a global menu will affect any locations linked to it; make sure no active locations are using a menu before deleting it.
🔒 Fields Editable by Companies
The second section of this page is a set of toggle switches that control which menu fields a company location is allowed to edit when it is using this global menu. This is what makes global menus flexible — the org owns the content, but can delegate certain operational fields to the locations.
Field | What it controls | Default |
Out of stock | Whether the location can mark individual items as out of stock on their POS without needing back-office access. | ✅ On |
Quantity in stock | Whether the location can set a specific quantity limit for countdown items (how many of this item remain). | ✅ On |
Prices | Whether the location can override item prices locally. When on, the location's price for a given item takes precedence over the global menu price. | ✅ On |
Visibility | Whether the location can hide or show individual items on their POS (without removing them from the global menu). | Off |
Description | Whether the location can edit item descriptions (useful for local language or context-specific notes). | Off |
Image | Whether the location can substitute their own item images in place of the org-level images. | Off |
💡 Best practice: Enable Prices if your locations operate in different markets with different price points. Enable Out of stock and Quantity in stock for daily operational flexibility at the location level. Leave visibility and content fields off to maintain brand consistency.
⚠️ Changes to these toggles affect all locations currently using this global menu. If you turn off a field that some locations are already using (e.g., they have set custom prices), those overrides will no longer be applied.
