Fix SmartBill email sending

Why this happens and how to fix it

What is happening?

Currently, SmartBill does not allow automatic email sending when a document is generated automatically from Shopify. Email sending only works if you set up your own email server inside SmartBill. We know this is not ideal, and we have already reported it to SmartBill.

How to resolve it?

You have two options:

A) Simple option, but slightly manual (You can do it now)

  1. In the Shopify app dashboard, uncheck ā€œEmail this document to the customerā€ Ā» This prevents the email sending error.

  2. Save settings

  3. However, you will need to send each automatically generated document manually from your SmartBill account.

B) Fully automatic option, but more complex (IT help needed)

  1. Set up your own email server in SmartBill, the guide is here: https://ajutor.smartbill.ro/article/37-email

  2. Then you can keep ā€œEmail this document to the customerā€ checked in the Shopify app dashboard, and the error should no longer appear.

  3. Save settings
