What is happening?
Currently, SmartBill does not allow automatic email sending when a document is generated automatically from Shopify. Email sending only works if you set up your own email server inside SmartBill. We know this is not ideal, and we have already reported it to SmartBill.
How to resolve it?
You have two options:
A) Simple option, but slightly manual (You can do it now)
In the Shopify app dashboard, uncheck āEmail this document to the customerā Ā» This prevents the email sending error.
Save settings
However, you will need to send each automatically generated document manually from your SmartBill account.
B) Fully automatic option, but technical help may needed
Set up your own email server in SmartBill ā if you need help with the setup, SmartBillās team will be happy to assist you. You can contact the technical team here and write:
āāHi! Could you please help me set up my own email server so that emails can be sent automatically for my Shopify orders?āThen you can keep āEmail this document to the customerā checked in the Shopify app dashboard, and the error should no longer appear.
