What is a company in Makula?

A company represents an external organisation you work with, such as a customer, supplier, or distributor. Companies are linked to assets and work orders, allowing you to track service history and manage relationships.

How do I access Companies?

Navigation: Open your Field Service workspace, then select Companies from the sidebar.

What information does a company contain?

Each company record includes:

  • Company Name: The name of the organisation

  • Company Type: Customer, supplier, or distributor

  • Address: Physical location of the company

  • Contacts: People associated with the company

  • Custom Fields: Additional fields configured in Settings

Why use companies?

Companies help you:

  • Manage relationships: Keep track of all external organisations you work with

  • Link assets: Assign assets to specific companies

  • Track service history: View all work orders related to a company

  • Issue portals: Give customers access to their assets and work orders through a portal

How are companies linked to work orders and assets?

When creating a work order, you select the company the work relates to. Assets can be assigned to companies, and when you create a work order for that asset, the company is automatically associated.
