Learn how to configure portal settings in Makula Field Service to control what information is shared with your customers.

How do I access Portal Settings?

Navigation: Open your Field Service workspace, then select Portals from the sidebar. Click on a portal to open it, then go to the Settings tab.


What settings are available?

The Settings tab has three sections:

  • Shared Assets: Control which asset attributes are visible to customers

  • Shared Products: Control which product attributes are visible to customers

  • Access Control: Manage user permissions within the portal


How do I configure Shared Assets settings?

  1. Go to the Settings tab in the portal.

  2. In the Shared Assets section, check or uncheck the attributes you want to share:

    • QR Codes

    • Parts

    • Preventive Maintenance

    • Documentation

    • History

  3. Click Save Changes to apply your selections.

Only the checked attributes will be visible to customers viewing their shared assets.


How do I configure Shared Products settings?

  1. Go to the Settings tab in the portal.

  2. In the Shared Products section, check or uncheck the attributes you want to share:

    • Documentation

    • Parts

    • Procedures

  3. Click Save Changes to apply your selections.


How do I configure Access Control settings?

  1. Go to the Settings tab in the portal.

  2. In the Access Control section, toggle Enable inviting members on or off.

When enabled, portal users will have the ability to add and remove users in the portal themselves.


How do I preview the portal?

Click the Preview Portal button to see the portal as your customer would see it. This helps you verify that the correct information is being shared before your customers access it.
