Portfolios

A portfolio is a group of projects with summary information such as overall work progress, budget used, and latest updates. You can also expand a portfolio to view all items (projects, work, files, etc.) within it.

There are two types of portfolios: Auto-populated and user-populated portfolios. Depending on your role, you may also toggle the visibility of these portfolios for others to see.

Creating an auto-populated portfolio

You can create an auto-populated portfolio using a search criteria. This type of portfolio will automatically include any project that fit the search criteria, and therefore you may not directly add or remove projects from it.

To create an auto-populated portfolio:

  • Go to Search

  • Under Projects, apply a search criteria using keywords or filters

  • Click on the Save as Portfolio icon

  • Enter a name for the portfolio.

Creating an user-populated portfolio

You can create a user-populated portfolio and manually add or remove projects from it.

To create a user-populated portfolio:

  • Click on “Create new” on the navigation bar.

  • Select “Portfolio”

  • Enter a name for the portfolio and select the projects to add to this portfolio. You can add/remove projects later.

Workspace portfolios vs. private portfolios

When you add a portfolio, it is set to private by default, meaning only you can access to that portfolio. You may want to make it visible to other users in the workspace.

Note: Only Workspace Managers and Project Managers can make a portfolio workspace visible.

To toggle the workspace/private setting of a portfolio:

  • Click on the … menu in the portfolio screen.

  • Click “Set as private” or “Set as workspace visible”.

Subscribing to a portfolio

You may subscribe to a portfolio to receive the latest project news in emails. Note that the email frequency can be set in Personal Settings.

To subscribe to a portfolio, click on the star icon next to the portfolio name.
