Overview
Maxanet lets you control the display order of auction items and insert new items between existing ones. Use the Display Order column on the Items tab to reorder items, or create sub-numbered items like 1A to slot new items between items 1 and 2 without renumbering everything. For bulk reordering, edit the Excel template instead.
How to change the display order of a single item
On the Items tab of your auction, the first column is Display Order. Click into the display order number for any item and change it. When you save, Maxanet automatically re-sorts all the other items in ascending order to accommodate your change. Use this when you want to move an item earlier or later in the auction display.
How to insert a new item between two existing items (e.g. Item 1A)
To add a new item between existing items 1 and 2, click Add on the Items tab to create a new item, then set its item number to 1A (or similar) and its Display Order to a value between 1 and 2. Maxanet honors letter suffixes in item numbers and will display 1A between items 1 and 2 on the public auction page. This is much faster than renumbering every subsequent item.
How to bulk-reorder items using the Excel template
For bulk reordering (dozens or hundreds of items), download the auction's Excel inventory template from Lot Actions β Download Inventory in Excel Sheet, edit the Display Order and Item Number columns directly in the spreadsheet, save, and upload the file back through Lot Actions β Import Inventory Excel Sheet. Maxanet applies the new order on upload.

Common questions
Can I use letters in item numbers like 1A, 2B?
Yes. Maxanet supports alpha suffixes and special characters in item numbers. Use this with the Display Order field to slot items between existing numbered items.
If I change one item's Display Order, do I have to renumber all the others?
No. Maxanet automatically re-sorts the remaining items in ascending order when you change a single display order value.
What's the fastest way to reverse the order of all items in an auction?
Download the Excel template, reverse the Display Order column values, save, and re-upload. Faster than clicking through every item individually.
