Overview
Maxanet lets you embed videos (from YouTube) and attach documents (PDF, Word, Excel) to two different levels of content: individual items (so videos/docs appear inside that specific item's listing) or the auction itself (so videos/docs appear on the auction landing page for every item). This article covers both workflows and how to make auction-level content visible to the public after upload.
How to embed a YouTube video in an item description
Upload your video to YouTube (or find an existing YouTube video)
Click the Share button below the video, then click the Embed option
Click inside the embed code box to auto-select all the text, then copy it (Ctrl+C on Windows, β+C on Mac)
In your Maxanet Admin panel, go to the auction's Items tab, open the Add or Edit item page, and paste the embed code into the Video URL box
Save
You can add more than one video per item by clicking the +Add More button.
How to attach a PDF, Word, or Excel document to an item
On the item's Add/Edit page, scroll down to the DOCS section. Drag and drop the document into the upload area (or click to browse your file system). Maxanet accepts PDF, Word, Excel, and other common document formats. The attached document appears as a downloadable link inside the item's public description.
How to add videos at the auction level (Videos tab)
To attach a video to the entire auction (rather than one item), go to the auction dashboard and click the Videos tab. Click the green Add button. In a new browser tab, go to YouTube, find the video, click Share, click Embed, and copy the entire embed code. Paste it into the Maxanet Videos form and save. Important: new videos are hidden by default β you must click the Actions menu on the video row and select Show Video to make it visible on the public auction pages.
How to add documents at the auction level (Documents tab)
For auction-level documents (terms, pickup instructions, catalog PDFs, location maps), go to the auction dashboard and click the Documents tab. Upload PDF, Word, or other document files. Just like videos, new documents are hidden by default β click the Actions menu on the document row and select Show Document to make it appear on the public auction pages.

Common questions
Can I use video hosts other than YouTube?
Maxanet's Video URL field works best with YouTube embed codes. Other providers (Vimeo, etc.) may work if they provide a standard iframe embed, but YouTube is the documented-supported option.
Why is my newly-added auction-level video or document not showing up publicly?
New auction-level videos and documents are hidden by default. Click the Actions menu on the video/document row and select Show Video (or Show Document) to make it visible to bidders.
Can I attach multiple videos to one item?
Yes. Use the +Add More button under Video URL on the item form to add additional video embeds.
What document file types are supported?
PDF, Word, Excel, and other common document formats. Drag and drop any supported file into the DOCS section on the item or auction Documents tab.
Can bidders preview the PDF or only download it?
Bidders can download attached documents from the item or auction page. Preview behavior depends on their browser and the file type.
