Overview
Maxanet supports two fixed-price buying models alongside traditional auction bidding: Buy Now (set a fixed price for instant purchase) and Make an Offer (let bidders submit their own price for the admin to accept, reject, or negotiate). You can enable either or both on any item, in any auction display format, with an optional minimum accepted offer to auto-decline low-ball offers.
How to add a Buy Now price to an item
From your Maxanet Admin panel, go to Auction → Items and add a new item or edit an existing one. On the item form, find the Buy Now price field and enter the fixed price. Save the item. A Buy Now button appears on the public auction page for this item, letting bidders purchase at the fixed price without waiting for the auction to close.
How to enable 'Only Buy Now' (hide the regular bid boxes)
On the item form, the Enable Only Buy Now toggle is OFF by default. Turn it ON to hide the regular bid boxes on this item entirely, leaving only the Buy Now button. Useful when you want to add fixed-price items or Make an Offer items into an Open Bidding or Maximum Bidding format auction — other items in the same auction still use regular bidding.
How to enable Make an Offer on an item
On the item form, the Make an Offer toggle lets you add a Make an Offer button to the public page. Make an Offer can be used with a Buy Now price (bidders can either Buy Now or submit an offer) or without one (Make an Offer only, no fixed price at all). If Make an Offer is the only option, the item shows just the Make an Offer button on the public page.
How the Minimum Accepted Offer Amount auto-declines low offers
When Make an Offer is turned on, Maxanet adds a Minimum Accepted Offer Amount input field on the item form. This is the minimum dollar amount Maxanet will accept as a valid offer. Offers below this amount are automatically declined by the system (the bidder sees a message telling them their offer was too low and can try again). Offers at or above this amount generate a pending offer email to the admin, who can then Accept or Reject the offer through the admin panel.
How the minimum offer field appears to bidders
If a bidder submits an offer below the minimum accepted amount, Maxanet shows them a message saying the offer did not meet the minimum. They can then submit a higher offer immediately. If a bidder submits an offer at or above the minimum, Maxanet shows a confirmation that the offer has been submitted for admin review. The bidder then waits for the admin's decision.

Common questions
Can an item have both a Buy Now price and a Make an Offer button?
Yes. Enable both toggles on the item form. Bidders will see both options — they can Buy Now instantly or submit an offer for admin review.
What happens to bids already placed if I turn on 'Only Buy Now' mid-auction?
Existing bids remain on the item but new bids are blocked. Test-first before changing live auctions.
Can I change the Minimum Accepted Offer after the item has offers on it?
Yes. Edit the item and update the Minimum Accepted Offer Amount. Existing offers are not affected, but new offers use the new minimum.
What email notifications does the admin get for offers?
The BuyNow Offer Received template in Admin → Configurations → Email Templates fires whenever a valid offer (above the minimum) comes in. You can customize the subject and body.
Can a Buy Now item be in an Open Bidding auction alongside regular bid items?
Yes. Turn on Enable Only Buy Now for the fixed-price items and leave regular items in Open Bidding mode. They coexist in the same auction.
