Your charging station may occupy a significant portion of the total available power of your electrical system, leaving little margin for other household appliances. To avoid triggering the main circuit breaker when you charge your car and use other important appliances such as the oven or washing machine at the same time, dynamic load balancing can be applied.
In practice, this means using a smart meter to continuously measure total energy consumption and adjust the power of your charging station based on the surplus power available. This ensures that the power of your charging station is automatically reduced when other devices are turned on, preventing the maximum power of your electrical system from being exceeded and triggering the main circuit breaker.
When multiple charging stations are installed in the same location, such as in a parking garage, it is also possible to intelligently distribute the available power among these charging stations to maintain a balanced power supply.
