Why was I charged prepayment before the charging session?

Mbrella Charge offers different pricing plans, which may affect how and when you're charged. When you start a charging session, the system needs to authorise your payment method to ensure you can cover the cost of charging. This authorization might appear as a temporary hold or pending charge on your account.

Some charging networks or specific charging stations might require a prepayment or deposit to start a session. This is more common with high-power chargers or in certain locations.

The exact timing of when charges are finalised can vary. Some charges might be processed immediately, while others could be aggregated and billed at the end of a billing cycle.

If you're seeing a specific prepayment charge that you're unsure about:

  1. Check your Mbrella Charge dashboard to see if there's any information about recent or pending charges.

  2. Review the terms of your specific Mbrella Charge plan, as different plans might have different billing practices.

  3. If you're still unsure, contact Mbrella Charge support directly. You can do this through the in-app chat support or by emailing charge.support@mbrella.eu

Mbrella Charge prides itself on transparency and accuracy in billing. If there's an error, our support team will be able to help you resolve it quickly.
