How do I set up a receipt printer in Meadow?

A receipt printer lets you print receipts for customers and automatically open a connected cash drawer after transactions or shift closings.

Set Up Your Receipt Printer

  1. Open the Meadow app

  2. Go to Menu → Manage Devices → Receipt Printer.


Connect Your Printer

1. USB Connection

  • Connect the printer directly to your iPad using a USB cable.

  • Open Meadow → Manage Devices, then select the printer listed under Receipt Printer.

Tip: If it doesn’t show, unplug and reconnect the USB cable or restart the iPad.

2. Bluetooth Connection (if you have the bluetooth model)

  • Put your receipt printer into pairing mode (check your printer’s manual).

  • On your iPad, navigate to Settings → Bluetooth, and tap to pair your printer.

  • Back in Meadow, select your paired printer under Receipt Printer.

Tip: If it doesn’t appear, disable pairing on other devices and try again.


Test the Printer

  • Tap Test Print in Meadow.

  • A sample receipt should print, and your cash drawer (if connected) should open automatically.


Troubleshooting

  • Printer doesn’t appear — possibly not paired (Bluetooth) or not detected (USB): try restarting devices or re-establishing connection.

  • No output during Test Print — check paper roll orientation and reload it.

  • Cash drawer fails to open — ensure the cable between printer and drawer is securely connected and restart the printer.
