If you are using Bluetooth receipt printers and scanners, follow these instructions to reset them and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

The Star Micronics receipt printer uses Bluetooth to connect, so if you are experiencing difficulties, please try the following steps

  1. Unpair the Printer:

    • Open the iPad's Bluetooth settings.

    • Tap the (i) icon next to the connected printer and select "Forget Device."

    • Repeat this process on all iPads connected to the printer.

  2. Turn Off Bluetooth:

    • Go to the iPad’s settings and switch Bluetooth off.

  3. Reset the Printer:

    • Locate the small red "RST" button on the back of the printer.

    • Use a pencil tip or similar object to press and hold the button for 3 seconds. A note about auto-connection will print.

    • Turn the printer off and then back on.

  4. Pair the Printer with the iPad:

    • Ensure the printer is only paired with one iPad at a time for optimal performance.

For more control over your printer, search for "Star Micronics" in the App Store and download the Star Setting app

  • Star Setting lets you manage settings like whether the printer pairs automatically after being turned off or disconnecting from the iPad.

  • You can also rename your printer (for example POS1, POS2, etc.).
