BOGO discounts use trigger and reward logic — when the trigger conditions are met, Meadow applies the reward automatically at checkout. BOGO discounts cannot be applied manually. Once created, they’ll automatically appear in POS and Menu Pro whenever the conditions are met.
Before creating your first BOGO deal, be sure to read this article carefully: Pick Biggest: How Meadow offers the best deal to your customers
How It Works — 3 Easy Steps
Define what the customer needs to buy - Choose the products, brands, or categories that trigger the discount.
Define what the customer gets when they buy - Set the reward — percent off, dollar off, or a new price.
Optional: Add additional settings for targeting - Refine by customer group, order type, delivery zone, or schedule.
Follow these steps to automate a BOGO discount in Meadow:
Define what the customer needs to buy
Choose your discount type: Select BOGO as the discount type and give your discount a short, clear name (e.g., BOGO Select Eighths).
Define your trigger.
Choose what items activate the deal: Brand, Category, Product, Subcategory, or Tag.
Use Match All if all selected conditions must be met (for example, products that match both a specific brand and category).
Use Match Any if any selected condition can activate the deal (for example, any of several brands).
Set the threshold.
Choose how much a customer must buy before the reward applies.
Minimum Quantity: Requires a specific number of trigger items in the cart (e.g., Buy 2, get 1 free).
Minimum Subtotal: Requires a spend amount on trigger items (e.g., Spend $50 on edibles, get 1 for $1).
Add optional filters or exclusions.
Use the Additional Excluded Items and Price Filter Settings menus to exclude certain products or price ranges from the trigger.
Limit to Products in Price Range to limit your trigger options between two prices.
Exclude On Sale products prevents products that use a slash-through sales price from being discounted additionally.
Define what the customer gets when they buy
Select your reward.
Choose what kind of item will be discounted: Brand, Category, Product, Subcategory, or Tag.
Use Match All or Match Any again to define how the system matches eligible rewards.
Set the reward quantity.
Define how many reward items are given per qualifying trigger.
Example: Buy 2, get 1 free → Reward Quantity = 1.
Define the reward price.
Choose how the reward will be discounted:
Amount Off – applies a dollar or percentage discount to the reward item (e.g., 50% off or $5 off).
New Price – sets a fixed new price for the reward item (e.g., get it for $1).
Add optional filters or exclusions.
Use the Additional Excluded Items and Price Filter Settings menus to exclude certain products or price ranges from the reward.
Limit to Products in Price Range to limit your reward options between two prices.
Exclude On Sale products prevents products that use a slash-through sales price from being discounted additionally.
Optional: Add additional settings for targeting
Select the Discount Application type:
Automatic - the discount applies automatically
Discount code - a code must be entered to redeem this deal
Set "Max Applications per order" - Define how many times the customer can add this deal to their cart.
Default is 1 application per order
Set to blank for endless applications per order
Apply optional rules.
Add customer or order attributes, such as specific customer groups, order types, delivery zones, or scheduled days and times.
Set stackability.
Choose whether this BOGO can combine with other discounts.
Save and activate.
Once active, Meadow automatically applies the BOGO when the trigger and reward conditions are met — in both POS and Menu Pro.
These discounts never appear in POS lists and cannot be applied manually.

Tips & Notes
Use precise rewards. Meadow provides the best deal to the customer. For more control and best results at POS, tell Meadow exactly what product to discount, narrowed down.
If your reward is any product from an entire category or brand, add a price filter setting to limit what rewards are applicable.
BOGOs are automatic — they don’t need to be selected in POS.
You’ll never see them in either the line-item or order discount list.
You can apply a discount code to make the promotion require a code entry.
Use “Match Any” to allow flexible triggers, or “Match All” for stricter conditions.
Review BOGO setup carefully to ensure the reward product is correctly linked.
