Meet Meadow's Discount System

Automate a stronger discounting strategy with BOGOs, stacking prevention, and many other features.

Updated today

Meadow’s discounting is built to make running promotions easier, smarter, and more automated.

How does it work?

Meadow has four different discount types and many ways to automate, schedule or restrict discounting.

Introducing Four Discount Types

Product – Brand, category, or product-based discount.

  • Apply automatically using system settings or by discount code.

  • Cannot be applied manually.

BOGO – “Buy X, Get Y” promotions with trigger and reward logic.

  • Apply automatically using system settings or by discount code.

  • Cannot be applied manually.

Order – Discounts that apply to the whole order.

  • Can only be applied to the entire order.

  • Can be applied automatically, manually or by discount code.

Line Item – Discount any one item in the cart.

  • Can only be applied as line item discounts.

  • Can be applied automatically, manually or by discount code.

How Discounts Appear in POS

After the update, discounts will appear in two separate lists within POS.
Each list is specific to the level of the discount being applied.

Line Item Discounts - The line item discount list shows Line Item discounts only.

  • Budtenders can apply these manually to individual products in the cart.

  • You will not see Product or BOGO discounts here — those apply automatically when their conditions are met.

Order-Level Discounts - The order discount list shows Order discounts only.

  • These apply to the entire cart and can be selected manually by a budtender.

  • You cannot apply a Line Item discount from this list.

Automatic Discounts - Product and BOGO discounts never appear in either list.

  • They are automatically applied when their trigger and reward conditions are met, both online and in POS.

  • No manual action is required by your staff.

  • If you want to create a discount that is applied to a product but you don't want it to be automatically applied, you should create a Line Item discount.

Summary

  • Line item list → Line item discounts only

  • Order list → Order discounts only

  • Product and BOGO → Apply automatically; not visible in lists

  • Each list shows only discounts valid for that level — either for a single product or for the full order

⭐ With this update, all discounts are now applied at the line-item level before the subtotal. Order discounts still exist, but they now distribute their value evenly across all applicable line items in the cart instead of applying to the order total after subtotal.
