Reassign a Metrc package to a different product

How to fix a package-to-product mismatch using Reassign Package — no need to void the package or cancel the reception.

Received a Metrc package to the wrong product? Use Reassign Package to fix the product match directly from the package details page — no need to void the package or cancel the reception.

Reassign Package updates both Meadow and Metrc automatically.

When to use this

Use Reassign Package when a received package is matched to the wrong Meadow product or product option. For example:

  • A package was matched to the 3.5g option but should be the 7g option

  • A package was received under the wrong product entirely

Important: Reassign Package changes the product name only — not the cost per unit. It's not available for finished packages.

How to reassign a package

  1. Find the package and click View

  2. Click the dropdown in the top right corner and select Reassign Package

  3. The current product the package is paired with is shown at the top of the form

  4. Under New Product/Option, select the correct product

  5. Select an Inventory Location

  6. Enter a note explaining the change

  7. Click Reassign Package

Example

You received a package under "Durban 3.5g" but it should be "Durban 7g." Open the package, select Reassign Package, choose "Durban 7g" as the new product option, select the inventory location, add a note, and click Reassign Package. Done — Meadow and Metrc are both updated.

Common questions

Can I reassign a finished package?

No. Reassign Package is only available for active (received) packages. If a package is already finished, it can't be reassigned.

Does reassigning update Metrc automatically?

Yes. The reassignment syncs to Metrc automatically — no manual update needed.

Can I change the cost per unit with Reassign Package?

No. Reassign Package only changes the product match. To edit cost per unit, still need Void package.

Where do I find Reassign Package in Meadow?

Go to Metrc tab → Received Packages, click View on any package, then select Reassign Package from the dropdown in the top right corner.
