🚨 AVOID CRITICAL METRC ERRORS 🚨
🚨 AVOID CRITICAL METRC ERRORS 🚨

Learn how to correctly handle package adjustments, display samples, trade samples and more within Meadow to avoid Metrc discrepancies.

Updated over a week ago

Once a package is in Meadow,

DO NOT adjust, split, combine or finish it directly in Metrc.

You can search for a package tag here to see if a package is already in Meadow.

πŸ’‘ You may search by the last 4 digits of the Package ID in Metrc tab. Check each tab to confirm it's not it's not in a different status (ready, received, finished, etc.)

Otherwise manually enter the entire ID or copy and paste the ID directly from Metrc by right-clicking the tag, select "copy to clipboard," then select "tag."

Follow these steps to correctly handle packages adjustments within Meadow

How to handle display samples in Meadow

  1. Receive the package from Metrc.

  2. Create a Purchase order in Meadow and receive the package.

  3. Reconcile the package using the Metrc Adjustment Reason: Display Sample

Trade Samples πŸ’Ό

Β§15041.2. Trade Samples.
(b) Cannabis or cannabis products that have been designated as trade samples may be provided from one licensee to another licensee for the purpose of providing the recipient licensee with product information to aid in making purchasing decisions about new or existing cannabis or cannabis products.

According to regulations, trade samples can’t be sold, so those packages will not appear in Meadow. These packages are flagged in Metrc with a briefcase logo πŸ’Ό

Only the licensee who added the flag can remove it (the producer or distributor). So, if you would like to sell the units, you should ask the distributor if they can remove the flag before accepting trade sample packages in the future.

If a package is flagged as a trade sample, it will only exist within Metrc and you will need to manually adjust the package there directly. This is the ONLY time you should be adjusting any packages in Metrc directly. All other package adjustments should always be made in Meadow. Be sure to check out the DCC's Current Regulations for more detail on the latest trade sample rules.
