I matched the wrong product to a package, what do I do?

If you made a mistake during a purchase order, you can cancel the reception and reassign the package to the correct product.

If you accidentally received a Metrc package to the wrong product in a Meadow Purchase Order, follow the steps below to correct it.

Wrong product, correct package:

  1. Find the Purchase Order

    • Navigate to Purchase Orders and locate the PO with the mistake.

    • Ensure the purchase order is open.

  2. Cancel the Incorrect Reception

    • Go to the Receptions tab.

    • Find the incorrect package assignment and click the red (❌) button next to it.

    • This breaks the link between the package and the product, allowing you to reassign it.

    Troubleshooting:

    • If you receive an error message, ensure the purchase order is open.

    • If you still receive an error, you may need to void the package (see below).

  3. Reassign the Package to the Correct Product

    • Navigate back to the Order Details page.

    • Click the red (❌) button next to the incorrect product.

    • In the "Product / Product Options" search bar, select the correct product.

    • Enter the amount and click "Update Purchase Order."

    • Return to the Receptions tab and receive the package under the correct product.


Correct product, wrong package:

If you assigned the wrong package to the correct product:

  1. Follow steps 1-2 above to cancel the incorrect reception.

  2. Once the reception is canceled, select the correct package from the dropdown list.

Error Message: If you receive an error stating "there have been inventory transactions," you will need to void the package (see below).


⚠️ If you are unable to cancel the reception due to inventory transactions, you must void the package and recreate it.

Steps to Void a Package

  1. Find the Package in Meadow

    • Navigate to Packages and locate the incorrect package.

    • Click "View" to open package details.

  2. Void the Package

    • Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner and select "Void Package."


 3. Enter a Reason & Choose Recreate Option

  • Enter a reason for voiding the package.

  • Under "Recreate as Ready?":

    • Yes → The package will be put in Ready state, allowing you to re-receive it under a different product.

    • No → The package will be removed from Meadow permanently.


4. Receive the Correct Package Again

  • If the package is recreated, it will be in Ready state with its quantity updated to match Metrc.

  • You can now receive the package again using a purchase order, this time under the correct product.


Please note:

  • Packages cannot be voided if they are linked to:

    • An order that hasn’t been reported to Metrc

    • An open PO

    • Solution: Remove the package from any unreported orders or close the open PO first, then attempt to void it.

  • Voiding a package cannot be undone. If you select "No" for Recreate as Ready, the package will disappear from Meadow permanently.
