How do I use Label Printing?

Using label printing you can create scannable labels for any product you sell.

Updated over a week ago

Using label printing you can create scannable labels for any product you sell. This is essential in a Metrc world - make sure you are pulling from the correct package when selling a product with multiple packages in Meadow.

Printing Labels from the Admin

Labels can be printed when viewing a Purchase Order or a Package in Meadow.

Printing from Purchase Orders

  • Transfers accepted via Metrc can be received into Meadow via purchase orders. Once you receive a package you will be able to print labels for it in the PO.

Printing from Packages

  • Once a package has been received in Meadow, you can print labels for it by clicking in the top right corner when viewing that package.

Label Size

Meadow supports printing two sizes of labels. You have the option to choose between smaller and longer label options:

  • Small labels are 1 inch wide by 0.5 inches tall.

  • Longer labels are 1.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall.

  • Only the large labels have room to include the Brand name and/or Price on the label. Small labels only contain the product name, option and Metrc package information (if you are currently using Metrc).

  • Once you click "Create Labels," Meadow will generate a PDF for your to download or print the labels directly from your browser.

  • By default, it will generate a number of labels equal to the units received for that package.

  • Once the labels are generated you are ready to print. If you click download the link should open in your browser like the image below (Chrome browser pictured). Some browsers may not allow you to print and require you to save the file to your computer to print.

  • When you print from your browser you will likely see an image like the one below (Chrome pictured).

  • Click "Print using system dialogue.β€œ

  • When you click Print using system dialogue you will see the interface below.

Adding custom paper sizes

Your computer likely won't be set up to print with labels the size we need to select.

  • To add paper sizes, click on the "Paper Size" drop down.

  • Select "Manage Custom Sizes."

  • Create and save a paper size like the one below (for the longer 1.5" labels). Set width to 1" for the smaller labels.

  • If your labels print off center run off the edge of the label, you can also try to increase the margin(s) to 0.1”.

  • Rather than having to choose a custom paper size every time you print labels, it can be more convenient to add a custom paper size and set it as the default paper size for the printer.

  • Open the Presets dropdown and clicking "Save Current Settings as Preset.β€œ

  • Your ZD410 label printer will now remember the label size from now on when you print.

  • If your labels start to print off center or run off the edge, hold down the left and right buttons on the top of the label printer for 2-3 seconds to calibrate. This will adjust the printer head to your paper alignment. It may take a few seconds and print out some blank labels to calibrate.
