How do I use Label Printing?

Using label printing you can create scannable labels for any product you sell.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This is essential in a Metrc world - make sure you are pulling from the correct package when selling a product with multiple packages in Meadow.

Printing Labels from the Admin

Labels can be printed when viewing a Purchase Order or a Package in Meadow.

Printing from Purchase Orders

  • Transfers accepted via Metrc can be received into Meadow via purchase orders. Once you receive a package you will be able to print labels for it in the PO.

Printing from Packages

  • Once a package has been received in Meadow, you can print labels for it by clicking the top right corner when viewing that package.

Label Size

Meadow supports printing two sizes of labels. You have the option to choose between smaller and longer label options:

  • Small labels are 1 inch wide by 0.5 inches tall.

  • Longer labels are 1.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall.

  • Only the large labels have room to include the Brand Name and/or Price on the label. Small labels only contain the product name, option and Metrc package information (if you are currently using Metrc).

Generating Labels

  1. Click "Create Labels" in Meadow.

  2. A PDF will be generated for download or direct printing.

    • Some browsers, like Chrome, allow direct printing.

    • Others may require saving the file before printing.

  3. By default, the number of labels generated will match the units received for that package.

  • Once the labels are generated you are ready to print. If you click download the link should open in your browser like the image below (Chrome browser pictured). Some browsers may not allow you to print and require you to save the file to your computer to print.

Printing from Your Browser

When printing, you will see an option like the image below (Chrome pictured).
Click "Print using system dialogue."

If you don't see this option, you may need to open "More settings"

Once selected, you will see an interface pictured below:

Adding Custom Paper Sizes

Since most computers aren’t set up for these label sizes by default, you’ll need to add a custom paper size:

  1. Click Paper Size > Manage Custom Sizes.

  2. Create and save a paper size:

    • Large Labels (1.5” labels) → Set Width: 1.5”, Height: 0.5”

    • Small Labels (1” labels) → Set Width: 1”, Height: 0.5”

  3. If your labels print off-center or run off the edge, try increasing the margins to 0.1”.

  • Tip: Instead of selecting a custom paper size each time, save it as a Preset:

    • Open Presets dropdown > Click "Save Current Settings as Preset."

  • Your ZD410 label printer will now remember these settings.

    Troubleshooting Alignment Issues

If labels print off-center or run off the edge:

    Recalibrate the Printer

    1. Hold down the left and right buttons on the top of the ZD410 label printer for 2-3 seconds.

    2. The printer will adjust alignment and may eject a few blank labels before finishing.
