What is Single Sign On?

Single Sign-On (SSO) is a way for users to access multiple applications or services with one set of login credentials (username and password), eliminating the need for users to remember and manage multiple sets of login credentials.

Mediatool provides this feature in two different formats:

  • Identity Provider Initiated login (IdP-initiated login), which means the user starts the login process by visiting the Identity Provider used by their company (e.g. Google). When logged in, the user will be redirected to Mediatool without needing to visit the MT login page at all.

  • Service Provider Initiated login (SP-initiated login), meaning the user will initiate the login process from the Mediatool login page, and will then be redirected to the IdP used by their company. After a successful login, the user will be redirected back into Mediatool.

Setting up SSO

If you would like to have SSO set up on your account, please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager, and they will gladly help you. The entire setup process is taken care of by Mediatool!
