As part of our direct integration with Kit, you can set up actions in your MemberVault products and offers to tag your subscribers in Kit when they complete certain activities throughout your MV account.
This article will show you how tags communicate between Kit and MV, how to set these up, and which tags we recommend using.
How Tagging Works
When you set up an action in MV and you have Kit integrated with your MV account, this will give you the option to "Add a Tag" in the "Do This" section of your actions.
You can use tags to categorize your Kit subscribers based on which products they've purchased, trigger visual automations or rules in Kit, and manage your members' email consent preferences.
You do NOT need to create this tag in Kit first -- simply type in your tag to MemberVault, and the first time this action fires, it will create the tag in Kit!
To add your tag to MV, type in the tag you'd like to use under the "Name of Tag" space in your MV action.
If you're making an automation in Kit that uses your MV tag, you will have the option to create the tag while creating the automation (see this help article for more details).
Best Practices of Tags to Use
Here are the basic action triggers we recommend including:
Added to your product
Consent Given (set up Consent Tags under "Members" > "Actions")
Consent Not Given
Becomes a Hot Lead for your product
If you want to further customize your members' experience, you can also add tags for these actions:
Added to your product via a certain payment type, webhooks, manual adds etc
Completing a lesson/module/full product
Choosing a particular multiple choice quiz answer
Earning X number of EP in your product
